Commercial Description:
Oskar Blues has released a special draft-only seasonal beer for the winter months. Ten FIDY Imperial stout is a titanic wonder of a stout, immensely viscous, and loaded with neck-deep flavors of chocolate, malt, coffee, cocoa and oats. It’s the beer equivalent of decadently rich milkshake made with Whoppers malted-milk balls and Heaven’s best chocolate ice cream. Ten FIDY is about 10% ABV and is made with enormous amounts of two-row malts, chocolate malts, roasted barley, flaked oats and hops. Ten FIDY’s huge-but-comforting flavors hide a whopping 98 IBUs that are deftly tucked underneath the beer’s mountains of malty goodness.

Also affectionately known as Ten W FIDY (i.e., 10W-50).

Editor's Note: The brewery has had the ABV tested at a lab, which came out to 9.4%.

Haven’t had a lot of impy stouts from a can... Poured solid black with a smallish brown head and ok lacing. Strong coffee and molasses aromas with some buttery chocolate and malted milk balls. Wonderful espresso taste up front, with plenty of chocolate, caramel, roasted malts, figs, warming alcohol, and a surprising hops bitterness that comes up to bite you toward the finish. One of the more complex flavor profiles I’ve come across. Smooth creamy mouthfeel, low carbonation, and a great espresso/chocolate aftertaste that lingers for a long while. This is great.

Can from Miver (thanks Joe !). Easily my best canned beer ever ! Opaque black with a dark brown head. Velvety mouthfeel. Sweet malty taste with lots of roasted coffee and chocolate. Very roasted aroma. A pleasure !

Can from Malt & Vine. Tasted blind with 14 others that day. This was in top 3. Pours a dark black with great mocha head. Hints of butterscotch, chocolate and dark brown sugar aroma. Incredibly sweet with molasses flavor. Medium body, incredibly smooth mouthfeel. I’ve put down a growler of this in a night, so it’s incredibly drinkable.

Can. Pours jet black with a medium sized brown head. Aroma of sweetened cocoa, roasted malt, and slight hint of coffee. Flavor is very nice... sweet cocoa dominates, but there is a definite alcohol presence. Great stout.

CAN! Good Lord this is thick and dark as night. Black with a brown head that builds big and thens dissipates very quickly. This beer is HUGE. Oily, smoky, bitter cocoa, almost a slight burnt sensation. BIG BIG BIG and excellent. It is hoppy and bitter, but the flavor has so much going on that you don’t think about the hops, but you definitely notice the bitterness. I am in awe of this beer, and in a can. I am frightened to think what would happen if I had regular access to this beer!

can, pours a "thick as hell" black, medium dark head, plenty of lacing. Burnt molassis and roasted malt nose. Screams dark. Dark roasted malt, almost burnt, some bakers chocolate, and a nice hop presence. There is no sweet in this thing at all, it’s just big, black, and bitter, and it makes me smile. I’m glad that there are 3 more of these with my name on it.

Pours deep brown with a tan head that doesn’t linger. Smells of coffee, chocolate, roasted malts and toffee. Tastes much the same, with some dark fruits and a slightly peppery hop taste to finish it off. .

An incredible beer. First had this on draft at the awesome brewery in Lyons, CO. Had it in a can yesterday. This beer is a big, black demon of an Imperial Stout. Opaque black, a big dark head makes it as imposing as any beer around. A light beer drinker would just quiver at the mere sight, smell and certainly taste of this behemouth. The flavors are complex with a ton of roasted malts, coffee and some smoke. It also has a big, dry hop finish, an oily mouthfeel and surprisingly, drinks fast and easy. A dangerous beer to say the least, but truly, one of the best Imperial Stouts out there.
