Commercial Description:
Oskar Blues has released a special draft-only seasonal beer for the winter months. Ten FIDY Imperial stout is a titanic wonder of a stout, immensely viscous, and loaded with neck-deep flavors of chocolate, malt, coffee, cocoa and oats. It’s the beer equivalent of decadently rich milkshake made with Whoppers malted-milk balls and Heaven’s best chocolate ice cream. Ten FIDY is about 10% ABV and is made with enormous amounts of two-row malts, chocolate malts, roasted barley, flaked oats and hops. Ten FIDY’s huge-but-comforting flavors hide a whopping 98 IBUs that are deftly tucked underneath the beer’s mountains of malty goodness.

Also affectionately known as Ten W FIDY (i.e., 10W-50).

Editor's Note: The brewery has had the ABV tested at a lab, which came out to 9.4%.

Can. Pours a black with a brown head. Aroma of roasted and chocolate malts. Flavor of chocolate, roasted malts, alcohol with quite a bit bitterness. Whoa is this beer thick and pretty good.

Pours a black color with a tan head. Aroma is of roasted malts, chocolate, caramel, molasses, dark fruits, and a little bit of some alcohol. Thick palate, kind of sweet at first but the roasted flavors hit you right after that. A decent bitter finish with a nice lingering flavor.

Can. Pours deep black with athin brown head with minimal lacing. Aroma of roasted malt with a bit of candy sugar. Flavor leans towards the sweet side, chocolate with a bit of biter roasted malt, licorise, brown sugar and a touch of espresso. Thick mouthfeel, kind of like a milkshake. Nice stout, very drinkable.

Wow. Intense as you might expect. Had this awhile ago so the memory of the flavors eludes me but...the best part was how the waitress accidentally grabbed my glass off the table and then refilled it for free. BONUS! the picture does the head justice; dark as night and thick as a...wait for it...foggy night. one to savor.

On tap at Hamilton’s. Pours pitch black and thick with only a thin layer of brownish head. Moderate aroma of roasted malts with bits of medicine-y anise. Strong flavor of espresso that has been slightly burnt. Flavors of dark chocolate follow. The bitterness beats out the sweetness, though it is hard to believe that this measures all the way up to 98 IBUs. I get some booze in the mostly bitter finish. I wonder how this tastes from the can.

ok i was blown away with this one. pours pitch black and thick like oil. just the littlest tan head around the rim. aroma is tons of chocolate, coffee, rich roasted malts, and toffee. drinks sweet up front with sweet chocolate pushing right through with some creamy toffee and caramel with it also. just a little coffee is tasted and it finishes sweet with a chocolate after taste. fantastic stout, and from a can no less.

Lent is over! Made it. This one was sent via trade by Alldaydrinker! Thanks buddy. Impy stout out of a can! So glad to have finally tried it. Aroma is of burnt caramel. Pours a scary motor-oil black with a brownish-red head that doesn’t stick around very long. Achohol presence is makes itself known, and the flavor has a bit of heat to it due to this. It’s big-bodied and has a slightly moderate hoppy finish. Mouthfeel is nice and creamy with a well-balanced amount of carbonation. Good, but I don’t think this is worthy of 4’s.

On tap @ Shady McGrady’s. Pours a pure black color with a small, dark brown head. Aroma of candi sugar, very sweet and malty. Fresh roasted coffee and bittersweet chocolate dominate; slightly thick, oily body. Tasty, and @ $4 a pop, its a great deal!
