Commercial Description:
Oskar Blues has released a special draft-only seasonal beer for the winter months. Ten FIDY Imperial stout is a titanic wonder of a stout, immensely viscous, and loaded with neck-deep flavors of chocolate, malt, coffee, cocoa and oats. It’s the beer equivalent of decadently rich milkshake made with Whoppers malted-milk balls and Heaven’s best chocolate ice cream. Ten FIDY is about 10% ABV and is made with enormous amounts of two-row malts, chocolate malts, roasted barley, flaked oats and hops. Ten FIDY’s huge-but-comforting flavors hide a whopping 98 IBUs that are deftly tucked underneath the beer’s mountains of malty goodness.

Also affectionately known as Ten W FIDY (i.e., 10W-50).

Editor's Note: The brewery has had the ABV tested at a lab, which came out to 9.4%.

Nice fat/thick brew, black as the night with a big creamy brown head and a big creamy ,smooth mouthfeel. Flavour is sweet and generous yet blanced by a big roasted bittersweet finish. Loads of caramell, roasted barley and toffe flavours.

This thing is going to age great. Absolute zero chance of sunlight. Poured milky black with brown head. Aroma of chocolate and coffee. Chocolate and caramel swirl with some roasted coffee.

You won’t believe the oily viscosity of this beer until you pour it from a can. It came out like syrup! A thin cinnamon colored head on top of a pitch black motor oil body. Very good looking stout. Aroma is coffee and oats with some chocolate as well. IBUs hide unbelievably well inside the thick sweet maltiness. Flavor is some chocolate with again coffee and a thick malty sweetness. A must try!

This is my favorite non barrel aged imperial stout to date. Also oskar blues shows that a canned beer can be great beer. Delicious flavor and aroma with a jet black pour and dark brown head.

Pours Black with nice thick head. Aroma - chocolate, roasted malts. Taste - Big sweet chocolate maltiness with some hops at the end to help offset the sweetness. Mouthfeel - Thick, rich, creamy. Overall - It’s a great beer but I could only drink one of them b/c it’s a little too sweet. But still very good.

This looks scary comming out of the can. Thick, total black with a rich dense brown head. It looks amazing. The scent is chocolate, coffee, sweetness, and malt. Flavor is great, its thick, oily, and chewy. Flavor is chocolate, roasted malt, coffee, and a nice subtle hop finish. Great stuff.

Can pours thick, and I had to ratchet up the pour to see any head, but what did appear was the brownest head I’ve ever seen. The aroma is roasted and dark chocolate. The flavor is wow, like a dark chocolate malt with some coffee notes to bitter. The hops are there, but with such a massive sweet profile, it only serves as a balancing act. The palate is shake like. I’m tempted to hold the glass upside down to see if it stays in (OK, not really). Awesome.

My friends and I refer to this as "motor oil." It’s jet black, has a lot of personality, and is full of malty chocolate and hops. I’m almost always in the mood for one of these.
