Commercial Description:
Oskar Blues has released a special draft-only seasonal beer for the winter months. Ten FIDY Imperial stout is a titanic wonder of a stout, immensely viscous, and loaded with neck-deep flavors of chocolate, malt, coffee, cocoa and oats. It’s the beer equivalent of decadently rich milkshake made with Whoppers malted-milk balls and Heaven’s best chocolate ice cream. Ten FIDY is about 10% ABV and is made with enormous amounts of two-row malts, chocolate malts, roasted barley, flaked oats and hops. Ten FIDY’s huge-but-comforting flavors hide a whopping 98 IBUs that are deftly tucked underneath the beer’s mountains of malty goodness.

Also affectionately known as Ten W FIDY (i.e., 10W-50).

Editor's Note: The brewery has had the ABV tested at a lab, which came out to 9.4%.

One of my favorite Impy Stouts in the world, in a can! Pours a thick black, like sludge. Aroma is strong roast and flavor is also strong roast, with just enough sweetness to make it taste delicious. I love this beer.

12oz can. Pours a jet black body with a big, two-finger width, dark chocolate brown head that dissipates quickly and remains heavily laced. Delicious looking stout! Aroma is big and bold. Lots of sweet, rich cocoa and roasted, bold coffees. A whole bunch of fat, but soft and sweet malts with some light notes of dried figs. Also a bit of hoppiness in the background really balancing out the bold chocolates and coffees. Very very very impressive aroma. The flavor is extremely bold, thick, and rich as well. Lots of roasted coffee...maybe a little too much, honestly. Very smooth and rich, dark chocolate puting a slow motion image of a spoon stirring a thick bowl of melted chocolate, then lifting out of the bowl and having a thick stream of melted chocolate ooze from the spoon as it rises. Lovely chocolate taste. Some molasses, figs, and deep woody hops come through right before the finish. The finish is very rich and cocoa sweet, but mostly a heavy coffee flavor that actually starts to give off a bit of smokiness. Some of the earthy hops make their way into the mix as well. A light, pleasing warmth reminds me not to drink this too fast as it goes down. Palate is surprisingly only medium bodied, slightly sticky, but mostly smooth before a subtle dryness kicks in. Overall, this could easily be in my top couple beers of all time if the coffee wasn’t so big. Believe me, I love this beer and could drink it endlessly...the rich, intense flavor/aroma and beautiful balance amaze me...but the SLIGHTLY over the top coffee keeps the rating down just a bit.

can. at pops house. definitely first impy from a can. pours gloriously dark with a deep tan almost red head. nose is chocolate, mouthfeel is so sticky, yet smooth and visceral. perfect carbonation, fresh, refreshing even though it is weighty chocolatey and heavy. a really great beer with a lot of complexity to it. dark chocolate, cholocate covered cherries.

2009 Can. One of the best imperial porters I’ve ever had. Dark, almost like burned engine oil with a mocha head. Smells of alcohol and deep, dark malts with very little coffee hints. No coffee flavor, no alcohol flavor, only a sweet malty goodness that is very, very easy to drink. A wonderful brew.

Mmmm, delicious beer after a long day. I have had this one before out of the glass, beautiful dark head and beautiful dark color. I am having it tonight however out of the can. Yes I know, but come on!! How cool is it to have a imperial stout this delicious out of a freakin can?!?! Smokey, roasted malts, a bit of chocolate, more coffee, dark nuts maybe? Awesomely concentrated deliciousness right out of the can. I think great on a cool night or a warm one. Like a delicious milkshake in some ways, Fuller body, filling. Warms your soul right from the can and you know what a great beer when you can have it from the can and glass and it can be a different yet enjoyable experience either way. Go Oskar Blues!

12 oz. can. What? This comes in a can? Yes, and it pours a thick black body with a small milk chocolate-colored head. Aroma is coffee, chocolate, smoke, and dark malts. Taste is of dark chocolate, heavily roasted malts and lingering smoke. Lots of delicious flavors to hide the alcohol. This is a fantastic beer - pick one up when (if?) you find it, you won’t be disappointed!

Can.. One of the best beer around. Extremely hard to find. If you run across it dont pass it up. Coffee and Dark Chocolate. ABV% is hidden behind the well balance flavors. AWESOME!

This is one of my all time favorites. Pours blacker than midnight on a moonless night. Amazing mocha colored head with decorative lacing. Superb head retention. Coffee, dark chocolate, combination makes the mouth water. Malty all over the tongue, minimal carbonation fitting the style, minimal hops but just enough at the end to create a balance. Alcohol is very well hidden. Amazing beer.
