Oskar Blues Ten FIDY

Draught at Summit in Cumming. Absolutely fantastic. Drank it opposite another of my favorits, and the Ten Fidy won heads down. Dark, dark brown almost black, very reich aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, cocoa, and brown sugar. Sweet yet balanced and the alcohol is imperceptible throughout. A great beer.

Appearance: Jet black pour, thin brown head
Flavor: Sweet malts, with the chocolate and coffee flavors heavily present, finishes with some slight hoppy bitterness
Palate: Really nice mouthfeel, it’s a complex beer that plays well on the tounge
Overall Impression: Another top notch offering from Oskar Blues, talk about great canned beer...
It’s a fairly balanced Imperial Stout, with some really nice flavors and an excellent complexity, that comes out in the middle palate and the finish. Every aspect of this beer works, no complaints from me, one of the better Imperial Stouts I’ve tried.

Superb Impy stout!! Pours opaque black, no transparency whatsoever, with a 3-finger deep chocolate head that leaves nice sticky lace down the glass. Nice chocolate and sweet malty nose. This is an impy take on a sweet stout, with nice sweet malts, varied chocolates, some roasts, vanilla, smoked grains, anise, light licorice, molasses and alcohol swirling around in a wonderful integration. The back-palate has a finish of dark cherries, an earthen touch of oats and hops, and a perfectly-timed light alcohol "touch" on the tongue.... graciously accepted for all the complexities at work. The mouthfeel is pristine, with an oily-rich palate and decent carbonation levels. Overall, an extremely wonderful brew. I’m becoming a HUGE fan of Oskar Blues brewing. You just can’t seem to go wrong with their offerings.

Pours as black as the can that it comes in with a thin dark tan head. Aroma is dark malts and heavy alcohol aroma. Taste hides the alcohol well, however. Chocolate, coffee, and a bitter finish. Good beer.

Can. Pours a black color, clear, with a frothy, brown head. Lacing is good to great. Aromas of chocolate, molasses, roasted malts, and some hops. Creamy initial texture with an oily, slick mouthfeel upon swallowing. Flavors of chocolate, roasted malts, and then a nice hoppy finish. Very good beer but North Coast Rasputin still has this beat.

Woah. Had this as my welcoming brew to Colorado with JakeBra and Carythedude. I’m not sure if they drank it or watched me. Pours from the can like oil. Black pour with tan head. Aroma of chocolate, dark fruits, coffee, roasty malt. Flavor is delicious. Tons of chocolatey roasty coffee, some light sweetness. Hoppy, bitter finish. Mouthfeel is a bit thin, but otherwise amazing. Hopefully these guys send me some more soon.

Poured this from the can into a standard pint glass. The appearance was black with no light coming through and a nice brown head. Chocolate, coffee, cocoa and roated malt are in the aroma. The beer is thick on the palate with great flavor the same as the aroma with also being able to pick up some licorice and a slight alcohol burn.

There’s just something odd about pouring a big stout from a can...Ebony body is quite opaque in the glass. Small brown head diminishes to wispy lacing. Aroma is roasty malts, dark chocolate and coffee. A hint of dark fruits. Full bodied with subdued carbonation. Bittersweet chocolate and cocoa rule the flavor. A hint of coffee and dark fruits, with some earthy hops. An excellent impy stout but not world class.
