Commercial Description:
Oskar Blues has released a special draft-only seasonal beer for the winter months. Ten FIDY Imperial stout is a titanic wonder of a stout, immensely viscous, and loaded with neck-deep flavors of chocolate, malt, coffee, cocoa and oats. It’s the beer equivalent of decadently rich milkshake made with Whoppers malted-milk balls and Heaven’s best chocolate ice cream. Ten FIDY is about 10% ABV and is made with enormous amounts of two-row malts, chocolate malts, roasted barley, flaked oats and hops. Ten FIDY’s huge-but-comforting flavors hide a whopping 98 IBUs that are deftly tucked underneath the beer’s mountains of malty goodness.

Also affectionately known as Ten W FIDY (i.e., 10W-50).

Editor's Note: The brewery has had the ABV tested at a lab, which came out to 9.4%.

12 oz. can - Poured ink black with medium brown head. Aroma - chocolate, oats, coffee and raisins. Flavor - chocolate, dark fruits, coffee and alcohol. Palate - medium/heavy bodied with little carbonation. Somewhat boozey on tongue with bitter throat numbing finish. Overall - Definite winner!! alot of flavor and you do taste all the 9.4 ABV. Chocolate syrup taste lingers along with alcohol.

Pours an impenetrable black. If you can call it a pour. Its more like it slides out of the can. 1.5 finger cappuccino colored head. Aroma is of roasted malt, chocolate, and coffee. And then you taste it. My God you taste it. Incredible mouthfeel. Sweet taste to start, which melts into a lasting, bitter chocolate and coffee aftertaste. And again, my God does it linger. This beer is a dessert.

12 oz. can. Pours jet black with no head, just a coffee colored ring around the edge of the glass. This stuff pours like oil. On the nose I sense raisin, coffee, tobacco, a little grape, and caramel. Low carbonation with a very oily mouthfeel. Raisin, prune, sugar, and alcohol can all be found on the palate. I didn’t find as much malt as the description would indicate. A very chewy brew. Reminds me of chewing tobacco. The flavor is different than most imperial stouts and is well constructed. Given the alcohol content, it is very well hidden. Still, this is a beer I would probably on have one of in a session. Very powerful stuff.

Can. The body is opaque pitch black with a big creamy forever lasting brown head. Very inviting. Coffee, chocolate, hops, roasted malts, caramel and some liqourice in nose and flavour. As it heats up it gets better and better. Great creamy mouthfeel. Definately a beer I want to drink again and again.

12oz can on a cold day. Pour is pitch black. Aroma is of chocolate, roasted coffee and malt. At first sip I am amazed to taste sweet bitter chocolate with coffee. Alcohol is very well hidden.Only hints can be detected. I could have this for dessert. yum

Enjoyed via 12 oz can. Pour a dark brown to black with a deep tan head. Nose is one of chocolate and roasted malts. A slightly oiliness comes across on the palate, along with the expected roastiness. Notes of malt, hop bitterness, and a touch of alcohol (as one might expect) come across on the palate. While it finishes sweet, it does not do so to an extent that makes it cloying.

Can. Pours out thick and jet black with a minimal dark tan head and slight lacing. Aroma is a wonderful pop of rich dark chocolate, espresso and faint earthen tones. Taste is buttery with little to no detection of the high ABV. Creamy mouthfeel with very sweet, maple syrup finish (little more smoke with a less sweet would have been desired). Overall a very solid imperial stout that I would seek out.

A huge thanks to Sparky for this beer. What an awsome beer. Great smell of course chocolate and malt. This pored very smooth from the can. Tast was an amazing blend of sweetness and bitter choclate. This had a very smooth and creamy mothfeel. This is an awsome beer
