Commercial Description:
Oskar Blues has released a special draft-only seasonal beer for the winter months. Ten FIDY Imperial stout is a titanic wonder of a stout, immensely viscous, and loaded with neck-deep flavors of chocolate, malt, coffee, cocoa and oats. It’s the beer equivalent of decadently rich milkshake made with Whoppers malted-milk balls and Heaven’s best chocolate ice cream. Ten FIDY is about 10% ABV and is made with enormous amounts of two-row malts, chocolate malts, roasted barley, flaked oats and hops. Ten FIDY’s huge-but-comforting flavors hide a whopping 98 IBUs that are deftly tucked underneath the beer’s mountains of malty goodness.

Also affectionately known as Ten W FIDY (i.e., 10W-50).

Editor's Note: The brewery has had the ABV tested at a lab, which came out to 9.4%.

Thanks kiefdog for the share. I can’t believe that a world class beer comes out of a can. Dad gum it Osker Blues! It pours motor oil black with a dark brown head. Nose is roasted malt, alcohol burn, coffee, some coffee, slight licorice flavor, and dark fruit. A ton of yellow lace lines the glass when you swirl. Flavor is velvety smooth- very light on carbonation- with lots of ripe dark fruit, sweet chocolate, roasted malt, and coffee bitterness. Starts sweet, and finishes with coffee bitterness. Slight bourbony alcohol flavor throughout. Thoroughly enjoyable beer! If it spilled I would lick it off of almost any floor.

12oz. Can - Black as night, pours like used motor oil. Deep tan head with heavy lacing. Nose is heavy with roasted chocolate and coffee. Malty chocolaty earthy flavor that is absolutely amazing. I’m new to craft beers but this is the first beer to absolutely "wow" me, I’ve never tasted anything like it!

Ten FIDY is a pitch black ale with a dense, caramel brown head that has excellent retention and really makes a mess of the glass. It has a resiny, roasty, chocolate-licorice aroma. It smells a touch sweet like molasses. It is heavy and smooth. The finish is clean and very dry. It tastes very roasted, like medium roast coffee, but it doesn’t get too astringent. Once again, there are notes of chocolate and licorice. It is well balanced and action packed. The aftertaste is like sweet resin. It’s a formidable beer.

Beautiful pour - black (even while pouring) with a burnt mocha head. Big roasty aroma, with toasted marshmallows, black coffee, and bitter chocolate. They’re absolutely right about the Whoppers. This is a big, thick brew! Flavors are more dry than sweet, with cacao, roasted coffee and burnt caramel covering a bit of molasses. Almost thick enough to chew. Very, very smooth and entirely enjoyable. MAN am I impressed with Oskar Blues!
