This is a big and complex brew with all the dark flavors in the palette. They must have used all the ingredients in the stockroom for this brew. Drink it if you can find it. Tnanks to bhensonb for providing this one. movezig (137), Pensacola, Florida, USA

Solid black pour at first head big bubbles then calms down to solid brown head. Nose is harsh charcole dark roasted malts. Flavors of raisins, dark chocolate, milk, coffee, toffee, sweet candy, and dark fruits. A nice alc burn as it warms in the snifter. So complex love it. trokini (1027), San Diego, California, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Oct 20, 2008 Tap @ Pizza Port SB. Pours midnight black with a 1 cm cap of tiny brown cascading bubbles. Lovely rich aroma of coffee, baker’s chocolate, brownies, and tobacco. Earthy. Full, velvety mouthfeel. Taste is unbelievably good. Loads of dark and milk chocolate blended perfectly with strong, black coffee. Its tempered by the sweeter caramel malt and roasted oats. Its like eating a rich chocolate cake, while having a strong coffee and finishing it with a nice single-malt. I’m in love with this beer. If they don’t get cans of it in San Diego soon, there may be civil unrest. bhensonb (4237), Woodland, California, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Oct 19, 2008 Can from Liquor Max in Loveland, CO. Black color with a multifinger, really dark, tan head. Aromas of coffee, chocolate and smooth burnt malt. Full bodied with creamy carbonation. Flavor is sweet burnt malt, coffee, and dark chocolate. Maybe the sweet part suggests treacle. There is a light freshness that suggests fruit, but it has bitter burnt malt as a primary. Whoa. This is an extreme amount of flavor. Finish is just great tastes. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 19, 2008 A superb dark molasse stout with a thick speckled lacing dark moka head. A surprising hoppy aroma with notes of dark chocolate, and peaty finale. In mouth, visocus dark burned toast, bitter chocolate, good floral hops and grapefruits, very sustained bitterness, agressive yet welcoming, and a warm alcohol final! A superb example. Bought at Half Time, June 2008. nqualls (1429), Nashville, Tennessee, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Oct 18, 2008 Can (?). Poured an obsidian black with a one finger brown head. Aroma of roasted malt and coffee. Flavor was bitter with coffee and malt, but I didn’t get the chocolate. A little edgy compared to Expy and Stone RIS. A little chocolate in the flavor would have added greatly to the rating. Full body with soft carbonation. Great beer that is close to being epic. Nephilium (546), Ohio, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 15, 2008 Aroma has hints of roast, and a touch of astringent alcohol. Pours an opaque black with a nice cap of dark tan head on top. Flavor is strongly roasted, with finishing notes of bittersweet chocolate and coffee. A bit of sweetness in the beginning seems to be the only real drawback on the flavor. Nicely thick and creamy texture, with just enough carbonation to keep it from cloying. Overall a very good beer, and one I wouldn’t mind getting some more of to cellar, and to hand to people who just want something in a can. NoiZe (1290), Mooi Zeist, Netherlands

Flavor is very bitter, roasted malts, dark chcolate and coffee, espresso. Very strong Imperial Stout. A bit too rough maybe, could use some smoothness.
