Canette de 12 oz achetée chez Julio’s Liquors (Westborough, MA). Arôme: Odeur de chocolat au lait avec une pointe de café. Apparence: La couleur est noire opaque avec une très faible densité de bulle. Présence d’un mince col brun crémeux et d’une large dentelle sur le verre. Saveur: Goût très chocolaté avec une pointe de café et de caramel. Longue durée de l’arrière goût. Palette: Le corps est plein avec une texture crémeuse. Moyenne effervescence en bouche. Delivers delicious roasted chocolate in the nose with an oily black pour that explodes from the can with a strong and slowly building fluffy dark brown head. The hops come across more aggressively on the 2nd time around the nose. Roasty with some tobacco and leather notes. Creamy and not overly complex, but still really well done and enjoyable to drink. A light bit of dark fruits and roasted caramel coffee round out the flavor profile. Nicely done/

Like Yeti, this features that dry-as-rock chocolate ambiance that encircles the whole taste. Unripe currant follows.

[Can] Absolutely the darkest, most viscous pour I’ve ever seen. Beautiful brown head of fine bubbles that sticks around. Sweet candi sugar aroma, tons of roasted barley, some citric hops, and a little alcohol. Incredibly rich mouthfeel, but very well carbonated at the same time. Bitter, roasted barley on the finish with a little bit of warming alcohol.

Poured a nice thick and rich black hue with a about a half inch thick brown head. Retention was a bit on the light side but otherwise looked great. Aroma was a heavy roasted note,mainly strong coffee. Flavor was a great mix of creamy goodness, coffee, mild cocoa and alcohol notes. Nice thick mouth feel,yet somehow real easy to drink.

Pours ink black with nearly an inch of deliciously brown foam for a head... oh that’s 5/5 right there. The nose has minor roast and heavy milk chocolate bar with hints of hop citrus, murky alcohol, and something odd, almost rotting. The flavor is sweet chocolate with a dash of roast on the side and minor licorice in the background. There’s bitterness and minor salt lingering in the aftertaste. The body is moderately sized but creamy, not quite the bludgeoning I hope for with an IS. 10W-50 is fairly straightforward as a total package, but it’s still quite tasty.

Fantastic! About as dark a beer as I’ve ever seen - even when pouring, the stream was opaque black. Produced an appealing dark brown foamy head that left an even sheeting of lace on the glass. Aroma and flavor was surprisingly restrained, focused on roasted malt and dark bitter chocolate. Mouthfeel is the main story here, with a big rich velvety texture.

Can. Pours inky black with a nice thick brown colored head. Aroma is chocolate, roast, caramel, coffee. Flavor is again chocolate, coffee, cocoa, caramel, whoppers candy. Palate is ultra full bodied, mild carbonation, finished bitter. This is one fantastic IS. This will be benchmark from now on!
