Commercial Description:
Oskar Blues has released a special draft-only seasonal beer for the winter months. Ten FIDY Imperial stout is a titanic wonder of a stout, immensely viscous, and loaded with neck-deep flavors of chocolate, malt, coffee, cocoa and oats. It’s the beer equivalent of decadently rich milkshake made with Whoppers malted-milk balls and Heaven’s best chocolate ice cream. Ten FIDY is about 10% ABV and is made with enormous amounts of two-row malts, chocolate malts, roasted barley, flaked oats and hops. Ten FIDY’s huge-but-comforting flavors hide a whopping 98 IBUs that are deftly tucked underneath the beer’s mountains of malty goodness.

Also affectionately known as Ten W FIDY (i.e., 10W-50).

Editor's Note: The brewery has had the ABV tested at a lab, which came out to 9.4%.

12oz can-Pours with a small chocolate froth head, the rest looks like used motor oil....Thats a good thing. Aroma of roasted malts, and chocolate. Flavor is a nice, not to sweet roasted malt explosion of creamy full bodied goodness.

Can, and a really great Iimp Stout. Pours black as hell with a nice brown head. Aromas chocolate, coffee and a nice malty smell hits my nose. Flavor is roasty and not as sweet as some big imp stouts. This one has flavors of coffee and is remarkably creamy. Leaves a nice brown film on my glass.

draft. pours black with a dark brown foamy head. dark chocolate and espresso aroma and flavors. liquorice. wow - extra smooth and creamy palate. wonderfully dry. smells like an asian food market. an exceptional beer that is well worth seeking out and stashing away. the best imperial stout i’ve tasted. re-rate: this was completely different out of the can than it was on tap. the can tasted more in line with most imperial stouts. heavy licorice, burnt mollases, strong bitter hop kick. it was much less smooth. hmmm. maybe i’ll let the rest of those cans sit for a while and see if they start to mellow to the smooth beauty that the draft version was.

The daughter unit brought this to me for Father’s Day earning herself some serious brownie points. Apparently this is now available at the liquor store near were she lives in Massachusetts. 12 oz can. Poured a deep, deep brown, almost black, with a small head that was almost as dark as the beer. Nose is dark chocolate & some coffee. Smooth, silky, creamy mouthfeel with very little carbonation. Flavor was chocolate, molasses, brown sugar and a small hop background, all in near perfect balance. This was a wonderful drinking experience.

Can. Aroma has notes of chocolate, coffee, red wine, oats. Black hue with an average sized medium brown head that mostly diminished and left good lace. Flavor is smooth chocolate, coffee, molasses and oats. Finishes bitter. Palate is full bodied and oily smooth. Fantastic brew except for the stupid can. Had to first clean top then clean white carpet after spill. Cans are for macros! Besides that this is a really good Impy with good oat and chocolate tones and a bitter bite. A good one.

Can, which is pretty awesome lookin’ I might add. Pours inky black with a dark brown head, really impressive looking as the carbonation rises. Aroma is straight up dark chocolate, not much else. Flavor is again dark, bitter chocolate, with a nice hops bitterness underneath and the alcohol not hiding. Rich and creamy mouthfeel. Enjoyable, if a bit one-dimensional in its chocolatey goodness. I found myself wishing for more present, upfront hop flavors. Great stuff.

12 oz can from Redlight Redlight...Let me just say that this was an Imperial Stout kick to the face! Pours Florida swampwater black with a slight dark tan head...HUGE aromas of deep roasted coffee, dark malts, and bitter cocoa. The flavors are, coffee bitter chocolate, smooth malts, and a blend of bitter hops. The beer was velevety smooth with a lasting bitter finish. It was also somewhat thin despite how thick it looked in the glass. Excellent stout..

12oz can(courtesy of RSRIZZO)-Pours jet black like motor oil with a small dark tan head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, coffee, and slight vanilla. Taste is of the same with a nice bitterness and dryness on the back end of this full bodied brew. Also, it came across lighter but still balanced. Great Brew.
