Aromas of coffee, anise and dark fruits. The flavor features burnt malts, mocha and coffee. The mouthfeel is nearly flawless, its smooth and creamy. The finish is long with lingering dark chocolate. Overall: Very nice concoction. Very appreciated. gsteph (263), knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jun 12, 2008 Updated: Oct 8, 2008Pours thick and inky black, like motor oil about 3,000 miles past a change. One finger, dark, whipped chocolate mousse like head. Nose is luscious...malt, milk chocolate and mild coffee. The more it warms the alcohol becomes more present. Under forty-five degrees it is undetectable. Flavor is silky smooth. I was taken aback. No bitterness at all for 98 IBU’s but there is some viscosity. This is masterfully concocted. A liquid love potion of hershey’s syrup, medium roast coffee, semi-sweet cocoa powder, vanilla, a dusting of scorched sugar with a mild charred oak finish. This could be mistaken for a hefty chocolate milk mixer. Big body, thick and satisfyingly rich. There is the undeniable smoothness, no doubt derived from the oats, the flavor is explosive. I can’t really do it much justice with words. lebshiff21 (85), Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jun 12, 2008 12oz. can from Capone’s in East Norriton.
Super thick & dark - just like motor oil. Pours with barely any head, the ring that’s there is a dark brown.
Coffee and chocolate dominate, malty & creamy. Alcohol is hidden well, you really only need one. blazingspiral (39), Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jun 10, 2008 The blackest, thickest, scariest. It oozes slowly out of the can and into the glass. There it sits, with a small brown head, thinking dark thoughts about you, and proudly emitting an aroma of burnt and roasted things. The texture of this stout in your mouth is like the rich soil in the deepest, dankest part of an ancient forest. It tastes as hoppy and malty as any brew could ever taste. Rich chocolate and strong coffee come out on top, with a hefty amount of bitter hops to round it out. Drink with caution, and reverence. Glouglouburp (2815), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 9, 2008 In short: Above average Imperial Stout. Biscuit and milk-chocolate.
How: Can, 12oz. From <insert your name here>. I received many of these in different trades (mostly bonuses) from probably 5 or 6 people, you know who you are. Thanks to you all guys, I’ll drink them all then I’ll need some more.
The look: Black body with a small tan head
In long: Very full body. Malt profile is very much biscuit. Flavours of Milk chocolate, cacao, more milk chocolate, woody/earthy notes, some vanilla, rather floury, more milk chocolate, a little alcohol bite in the end. Above average for the style but IMHO this beer is a bit overrated. Although nowadays to me Over-Hype American Imperial Stouts is anything but an oxymoron. jcwattsrugger (5260), Florida and, New Jersey, USA

The aroma was chocolate with some pancakes. There was also some bread crust. The taste had some sweet chocolate and pancakes. There was also some nice roasted coffee.
