This titanic, immensely viscous stout is loaded with inimitable flavors of chocolate-covered caramel and coffee and hide a hefty 98 IBUs underneath the smooth blanket of malt. Ten FIDY (10.5% ABV) is made with enormous amounts of two-row malt, chocolate malt, roasted barley, flaked oats and hops. Ten FIDY is the ultimate celebration of dark malts and boundary-stretching beer.

Holy smoke. What a stout. Pours a very opaque brown-black. No head. Aroma is complex; coffee, chocolate, fruity and some that i couldn’t quite palce. Taste is very busy and complex; coffee, chocolate, berries. This thing will kick your butt; interestingly though, it doesn’t feel or taste as strong as this beer is; not incredibly beer. Mouthfeel is almost like a soft-drink. Drink this beer.

Poured from a 12 oz. can into a tulip glass. Aroma- HMMM, coffee, caramel and malt. fantastic. Appearance- Looks like I just poured my old engine oil into a glass (that’s actually a compliment) Taste- The best Russian Imperial Stout I have ever had. I could also say the only RIS that I cared for. But this awesome tasting. Palate- A heavy brew with moderate carbonation, has a creamy texture and a good alcohol feel after the swallow. Overall- World class, I now know why people flip over this beer.

Can into a shaker showing big black center with very thin coffee brown rims. The nose shows a lot of roasted malts and big notes of dark chocolate & toasted coffee bean. The palate is highly carbonated and full bodied. The first impression shows a lot of dark chocolate notes with a slight lactose sweetness. Some small hints of bourbon & smoke here and there. A clear and strong espresso background permeates throughout the whole beer. The alcohol appears slightly on the finish but overall dominant on the coffee and chocolate flavors. Dark chocolate bitterness on the finish. Overall, this is a really nice after meal beer.

355ml can. Pitch black with tall dark brown head. Aroma of sweet chocolate, molasses, coffee, roasted malts and some almost peaty smoky tones. Dry, roasted bitter taste but also pleassant filling chocolate. Wonderful smooth mouthfeel with very light carbonation without feeling flat, great lasting bitterness.

330ml can at home, v2012. Black color with light brown head. Roasted malty aroma, coffee, chocolate, light soy sauce, cocoa, light dark fruits, caramel. Sweet and bitter taste, coffee, chocolate and cocoa, more fruity than the aroma, light alcohol. Full body light creamy with soft carbonation and nice bitter dark chocolate and light coffee aftertaste.

Taken as an 8oz pour. Black with a dark tan head. Roast chocolate and charred malts dominate. This is such an excellent rendition, good job!

Heavy nickel and cream and alcohol aroma. Black color with super thick tan head. Snap. That’s heavy feeling but really balanced taste.

Pours a deep black with a luscious, consistent light brown head white slowly recedes to a foamy layer on top leaving a lacing on the glass whilst doing so. Aroma is red berries/currants, chocolate and a bit of roast. Taste is cocoa (comes with a cocoa-like coating on the tongue!), earthy, roasted coffee slightly bitter but balanced out by a pleasant oatmeal-ish sweetness. Im not sure this would go up a straw, it has the thickness of rice pudding. Full bodied and full of wonder.
