COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This titanic, immensely viscous stout is loaded with inimitable flavors of chocolate-covered caramel and coffee and hide a hefty 98 IBUs underneath the smooth blanket of malt. Ten FIDY (10.5% ABV) is made with enormous amounts of two-row malt, chocolate malt, roasted barley, flaked oats and hops. Ten FIDY is the ultimate celebration of dark malts and boundary-stretching beer.

My favorite beer from Oskar Blues (and that’s saying something). 4 oz chilled pour into a cylindrical tasting glass from tap at the brewery’s taproom. Fresh as can be! Dark black and opaque with a lasting brown nose. Hell of a nose. Malty, burnt notes, and scotch. Taste is very layers. Huge amounts of caramel, some coffee, a little scotchy booziness, some oakiness, and a little chocolate syrup to finish. Pretty much every flavor you could hope for from a stout, all in different waves. Apparently 98 IBUs. Hides that crazy well; I tasted almost no bitterness.

Can, shared at Ale House, Chelmsford. From Clayton for my 33rd Birthday . Thanks; mate! Gorgeous baige lacing. Opaque colour. Aroma is grains, oak, leather, chocolate. Taste is blackcurrants, chocolate, oak, wood, tar. motor oil, licorice and penny black jacks. A good amount of alcohol but not burning. Great stuff. Fantastic.

Man I love this. Pours jet black with 1 finger dark brown head. Lots of lacing. Aromas of chocolate, vanilla, caramel, raisins. First sip, amazing velvety mouthfeel! I mean soo silky. Lots of chocolate caramel, coffee, vanilla. Just really a damn good stout. Sweet but not cloying.

Never knew a can this small could hide a beer this big. Intense from the first sip. Aromas of strong boozy chocolate, leather, and a little coffee. Notes of coffee and warm booze hits you with such sweetness you can not hold back a smile. Let it warm up to get more chocolate. All in all an amazing stout to savour and sip.

This is not a beer, this is an experience. Pours inky with a big brown head (looks like chocolate) and a moderate sweet mocha-chocolate nose. Flavor is enormously rich and presents an exception mix of both heft and smoothness. Coffee, milk chocolate, bread, and even a touch of cream all come out in the flavor. Despite the near 100 IBU, there is nothing bitter or abrasive here, though it’s quite huge in flavor. Wheew, good, good stuff.

Dark coffee colored head. Pours like crude oil from a can. Smells is heavy of malt and burnt toast. Very toasty and carmelly taste. Bitter Iced coffee aftertaste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy

Strong chocolate aroma mixed with coffee and roasted malts. Well mixed taste of chocolate and coffee. Alcohol warming and a bit lively on the carbonation.

More than merely opaque, this sucks the surrounding light out of the room. Taste so smooth and wonderful, it feels like a natural part of you. I drink only stouts, and I'm hard to please; I will drink this often, to remind myself of what a stout is supposed to taste like.

From notes on 3/30/15 On tap at Oskar Blues. Big thick dark body. Huge roasty chocolate, leather aroma. Just as big of a taste. Big, almost tobacco like flavor. Lots of roasted chocolate.
