Commercial Description:
Oskar Blues has released a special draft-only seasonal beer for the winter months. Ten FIDY Imperial stout is a titanic wonder of a stout, immensely viscous, and loaded with neck-deep flavors of chocolate, malt, coffee, cocoa and oats. It’s the beer equivalent of decadently rich milkshake made with Whoppers malted-milk balls and Heaven’s best chocolate ice cream. Ten FIDY is about 10% ABV and is made with enormous amounts of two-row malts, chocolate malts, roasted barley, flaked oats and hops. Ten FIDY’s huge-but-comforting flavors hide a whopping 98 IBUs that are deftly tucked underneath the beer’s mountains of malty goodness.

Also affectionately known as Ten W FIDY (i.e., 10W-50).

Editor's Note: The brewery has had the ABV tested at a lab, which came out to 9.4%.

Black colored, little dark brown head. Strongly roasted and sweet aroma with mild smoke and coffee, some salty licorice also present. Medium to full bodied. Flavor has stronger licorice with still roastiness dominating, some sweet berries also here. Aftertaste turns to dry hopped,

Can, and a really great Iimp Stout. Pours black as hell with a nice brown head. Aromas chocolate, coffee and a nice malty smell hits my nose. Flavor is roasty and not as sweet as some big imp stouts. This one has flavors of coffee and is remarkably creamy. Leaves a nice brown film on my glass.

400th Rating, booya. 31st Top 50 Rating. 12oz hand bottled via trade with Captain Cougar. So many thanks Tom. Pours beautifally into a big snifter. Black pour with a thin layerish stable tan head. Smokey malt, slightly sweet coffee, and chocolate nose. Its small and subtle but a nice aroma. The taste is really dynamic and big with notes of chocolate, coffee, smoke, and roasted malt. This is a robust beer that feels potent but not overwhelming. The alchol isn’t so much hidden as not noticeable. Hell of a good beer to mark another 100 hundred ratings.

Canned (weird to say of such a high-rated brew). Dark color, fluorescent brown lacing. Aroma of loads of coffee, hint of chocolat, very roasted. Roasted bitter taste, very long aftertaste, fills your mouth completely. Not creamy, but more carbonating coffee. Great beer, but please, put this stuff in a bottle!! Tap @ brewpub as well. What can I say, brilliant stuff!

At the 2007 Big Beer, Belgians, & Barleywines Festival in Vail. A glorious beer. Pours like motor oil. Black syrup with no head. This is german chocolate pie in a glass. So milky rich that I cannot even tell there’s any alcohol. Dangerous.

Bottle from Liquor max. An inky, thick pour, with a small, dark brown head. Completely black body. Alcohol legs, and some odd, spotty, complete lacing. Aroma is a bit weak, with alcohol, malt, light smoke and cedar and a bit roasty. Taste is malty, and roasty, a bit of rochefort, caramel and coffee. I find it a bit thin like all Oskar Blues beers. There is also a choclate milkshake/malt taste when it warms aswell, alcohol evident. Light carbonation.

Canned. Opaque black with a low thick brown head. Strong aroma of dark chocolate, nuts and salty licorice. and almonds. Compact body and flavour which never let the big flavours to expand as they could. Black coffee, salt, tar and cookies in the flavour with subdued piney hops in the long cocoa dominated aftertaste. Certainly not an average Impy stout but could express a little more "Ommmff."
