Commercial Description:
Oskar Blues has released a special draft-only seasonal beer for the winter months. Ten FIDY Imperial stout is a titanic wonder of a stout, immensely viscous, and loaded with neck-deep flavors of chocolate, malt, coffee, cocoa and oats. It’s the beer equivalent of decadently rich milkshake made with Whoppers malted-milk balls and Heaven’s best chocolate ice cream. Ten FIDY is about 10% ABV and is made with enormous amounts of two-row malts, chocolate malts, roasted barley, flaked oats and hops. Ten FIDY’s huge-but-comforting flavors hide a whopping 98 IBUs that are deftly tucked underneath the beer’s mountains of malty goodness.

Also affectionately known as Ten W FIDY (i.e., 10W-50).

Editor's Note: The brewery has had the ABV tested at a lab, which came out to 9.4%.

Thanks to TheRealBastard for this one. Pours out black with a nice brown head. Aroma of roasted malt and chocolate. Taste is very smooth, excellent velvet-like mouthfeel. Flavor is of roasted malt, chocolate, slight hop on the finish. Overall its roasty/sweet malty goodness. Thanks Brent!

Pours out a black color with a thick brown head. aroma is big on malts, coffee, dark fruit, and choco. flavor is rather smooth with a lot of similarities to the aroma with a nice smack of hops in the finish. This can of burnt motor oil is great.

Can...Pours a deep black hue with a big, frothy tan-brown head. Aromas of...yes....whoppers, chocolate, a touch of cream, and cooked oats..Im getting excited. Mouth feel is full bodied with a semi dry finish. Flavors of toasted oatmeal, a nice hop bitterness, but a lingering alcohol finish. Might be a little too cold right now. As it warms, the whoppers really come through. Amazing. One of the most unique impy stouts Ive had in a while ....

12 0z Bottle via Captaincougar (thanks). Pours thick thick black with a large brown head. Very nice aroma..pure Mocha. Ummm, ok i have a new favorite. Wow this is hard to put into words. It is everything you expect from a great Imp Stout without any of the typical negatives. Purfect amount of roastiness, chocolate, coffee, vanilla...a little bit of licorice. I swear i even detect some hazlenut and almonds in there somewhere. Medium carbonation. Full body, thick chewy mouthfeel. Awesome Awesome Awesome.

Draft sample. Pours deep, shiny black with a mostly diminishing head. The amazing thing about the appearance is how inviting it looks. The aroma is distinctly new school imperial stout style. Coffee is foremost and pounding. Nuances of barrel, vanilla, chocolate, burnt malts, piney and mildly acidic hops, fruits galore but restrained in unison by the onslaught of roastiness and chocolate, not to mention the menacing fresh coffee. Flavor is again huge coffee, much like the nose indicated. The roast is monstrous now, accompanied by silky sweet chocolate, anise, buttery malts and dark fruit, mostly blackberries. The palate is ridiculously accomodating, very full and smooth, coating, creamy and delightfully medium dry. Finishes very dry, leaving behind a touch of bitter chocolate and cherry sweetness. Too many hops presently, will probably be phenomenal if laid down for awhile. Excellent IS from a wonderful brewery.

CAN. Pours blackish-brown engine oil body. Slight chocolate aroma. Palate is great - taste is extremely well balanced, ery sweet and no alcohol in the flavor whatsoever.
