COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This titanic, immensely viscous stout is loaded with inimitable flavors of chocolate-covered caramel and coffee and hide a hefty 98 IBUs underneath the smooth blanket of malt. Ten FIDY (10.5% ABV) is made with enormous amounts of two-row malt, chocolate malt, roasted barley, flaked oats and hops. Ten FIDY is the ultimate celebration of dark malts and boundary-stretching beer.

UPDATED: FEB 4, 2014 Can. Roasted malts, sweet chocolate aroma. Taste is mild bitterness and heavy sweetness (chocolate). Pours motor oil black with a medium head. Palate is super thick and creamy. Delightful, really. There’s an aftertaste that I can’t pinpoint, but I like it. A fantastic stout, no doubt.

10.5%ABV. Imperial Stout. Poured out oily black. 40°SRM. Nose is redolent of hickory and cherry wood smoke. Aromas of honey prunes, dates, honeyed figs and raisins. Mouthfeel is oily and syrupy. Palate has charred grains, some toasted rye bread, black bread. Flavors of wood smoke with a slight umami, suggestive of a thin sliver of gravlax. Nice oak and wood in the finish. Alcoholic heat at the back of the throat lingers. Overall impression: a prodigiously provisioned, a pleasingly complicated palate with a hint of bellicosity. Goes on Favorites List ! It’s actually spelt CONCUPISCENT which means full of lust.

A long time coming tasting this one... After drinking it I got to say that I like a whole lot. Old school stout done right. Excuse my unorthodox rating - but 2000 people before me already wrote plenty. I like it. You’ll like it too.

This is a great beer. Not too sweet which is a danger for some of these big stouts. Stumbled on a can in Whole Foods - good on them. As someone said already, dangerously drinkable. Have to say, never had an imperial stout from a tin and was weirdly apprehensive, but no worries at all. Wouldn’t mind a few of these for the winter months but if you’re wondering - yup it works well in London even on a summer evening.

330ml can (thanks martjoobolut). Pitch black color. Small size, tan head, stays. Sweet, roast, malty, raisins, hazelnuts in aroma. Nutty, roast, malty, coffee, citrus, dry nut skins in taste. Nut skins and nice roast in aftertaste. Soft plus carbonation. Heavy roast dominates the brew. Excellent one.

UPDATED: MAY 27, 2016 Can shared by Mart. Black beer, brown head. Nose is roasty, hoppy, chocolate and coffee, leather, mild citric notes. Flavor is citric, roasty, coffee, licorice, vanilla sweetness. Roasty finish with acidic notes, more citrus bordering on lemony. Thinner than expected, it?s dry, not oily. Dangerously drinkable.

first impression is that very velvety, very thick, prominent bitter chocolate aroma and taste. long lasting aftertaste with the same features. not a very complex but well balanced heavy imp.stout rather on the bitter side by roasted malts and espresso, with compensating mild sweetness.
