4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Can into pint (from my notes): Pours like motor oil, head slowly emerges; interesting sliding racing/lacing. Smells like creamy, buttery, roasty chocolate, with other caramelly malts in there, and occassionally a fruity smell that reminds me of raspberries. Full and smooth in the mouth like Bells Expedition, and tastes like it at first but . . . then the hops and roastiness kick in on the end, and wow; theyíre amazing. Full, kick-your-ass flavor -- this is the hoppiest stout I can remember tasting. I donít even know how it tastes like this with the high gravity and creamy mouthfill, the amount of hops they must have used. The finish totally eliminates the saliva in my mouth in dry and bitter goodness. Overall, while the wallop of this beer is impressive, it got taxing to finish it. A good can of beer to share with friends, because you could use the help.

3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
One of the best pouring imp stouts Iíve ever seen! Pitch black dark with an awesome mocha head. Smells super anise which is a little off putting to me but donít mind it much in the flavor. Not my typical style of stout which is usually heavy roast, coffee or bourbon. This is anise, dark fruit and spices but for some reason I love it because it is packed with flavor. Also extra points for being canned and accessible, although expensive.

2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20
can. Pours thick black with big deep brown head. Burned malt, with quite a bit of chocolate. Bitter and a bit astringent. Substantial booze. Iím clearly in the minority, but I think this is probably one of the worst stouts Iíve ever had. Way too many off flavors, inculding a metallic fishiness. WTF?

Poured from 355mL can. Dark black pour with very quickly dissipating tan head. Aroma has a bit of soy sauce with some chocolate and roasted malts. Taste of sweet mild-chocolately malts, with some roast and alcohol. Medium body, oily texture.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Can. Black with a good sized rich brown head. Big aromas of malt and oatmeal with with chocolate, caramel, and light mineral notes. Taste is very sweet with a coffee-like bitterness to finish. Body is heavier with a creamy feel. This is a good sweeter imperial stout that hides the alcohol well.

2.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Draft. Pours black with pillowy head that lingers with light lacing. Smells of a boozy chocolate bar. Very substantial beer. Sweet chocolatey flavor with heavy boozy finish. Too much for my taste.

Dark brown/black colour with dark brown foam. Full body. Well balanced stout. Aroma of roasted malts, vanilla and chocolate. Rather on the sweet side. Good but i did expect more roastiness and bitterness.

12oz can thanks to bytemesis! Pours inky blackish brown with a finger of head. Nose is dank roasty coffee and bitter dark bakers chocolate. Taste is creamy smooth dark chocolate, coffee bean, roasty almond, vanilla notes, just the slightest hint of fruity booze as it warms up. Finish is bitter dark chocolate, hershey syrup, creamy coffee, vanilla. Delicious!
