COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This titanic, immensely viscous stout is loaded with inimitable flavors of chocolate-covered caramel and coffee and hide a hefty 98 IBUs underneath the smooth blanket of malt. Ten FIDY (10.5% ABV) is made with enormous amounts of two-row malt, chocolate malt, roasted barley, flaked oats and hops. Ten FIDY is the ultimate celebration of dark malts and boundary-stretching beer.

Can into pint (from my notes): Pours like motor oil, head slowly emerges; interesting sliding racing/lacing. Smells like creamy, buttery, roasty chocolate, with other caramelly malts in there, and occassionally a fruity smell that reminds me of raspberries. Full and smooth in the mouth like Bells Expedition, and tastes like it at first but . . . then the hops and roastiness kick in on the end, and wow; they’re amazing. Full, kick-your-ass flavor -- this is the hoppiest stout I can remember tasting. I don’t even know how it tastes like this with the high gravity and creamy mouthfill, the amount of hops they must have used. The finish totally eliminates the saliva in my mouth in dry and bitter goodness. Overall, while the wallop of this beer is impressive, it got taxing to finish it. A good can of beer to share with friends, because you could use the help.

Absolutely black light brown lacing foam. Bitter chocolate aroma, bitter cold coffee taste, some chocolate notes, little cheese. Lasting coffee aftertaste. (Houston 201408)

Poured an opaque black with a dense light grown head that hung around nicely. Strong coffee aroma with some chocolate in the background, also getting some raisiny notes. Very little hop aroma. Coffee and chocolate dominate the taste, with a firm bitterness from both hops and roasted malts coming through in the finish. Dark fruits coming through as it warms. Finishes a little sweet.

4 oz draft pour shared by solidfunk at ChurchKey during their Sierra Nevada Beer Camp event. 2013 keg. Aromas of light booze, dark fruit, chocolate, roast, light caramel. Tastes of chocolate, roast, caramel, light dark fruit. Medium body with a dry finish. Prefer this one fresh I think.

Pour from can. Dark, dark brown with cinnamon colored head that quickly recedes. Nose of dark chocolate, roasted malt. Taste of bitter coffee, a little chocolate, some hops and a little too much alcohol on the finish. It's good, but not an elite imperial stout. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz. can. Pours a black color with a thin, deep tan head that doesn’t stick around for long. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, alcohol and a touch of oak. Full bodied, it tastes of all of the above. Slightly warming, it leaves with a dry finish. Great beer!

Pours black from the can. Very interesting, full bodied flavor. Not quite as good as Old Rasputin Russian a Imperial Stout. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bought a 4-pack of this at Spinnakers liquor store in Victoria, BC. Pours a deep black color with a nice tan head. Smells malty, chocolatey and of slight coffee. Taste is the same. One of the finest Imperial Stouts i've ever had. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a dark brown with a thick tan foam head. Has an aroma of roasted malts and even a little oak wood. Flavor is sweet chocolate, roasted malts, coffee, some bitterness underneath that, and some alcohol. Wonderful beer.

Fantastic, velvet finish, with lots of deep roasted notes that plays with the hopping... a masterpiece of a RIS
