4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Can into pint (from my notes): Pours like motor oil, head slowly emerges; interesting sliding racing/lacing. Smells like creamy, buttery, roasty chocolate, with other caramelly malts in there, and occassionally a fruity smell that reminds me of raspberries. Full and smooth in the mouth like Bells Expedition, and tastes like it at first but . . . then the hops and roastiness kick in on the end, and wow; they’re amazing. Full, kick-your-ass flavor -- this is the hoppiest stout I can remember tasting. I don’t even know how it tastes like this with the high gravity and creamy mouthfill, the amount of hops they must have used. The finish totally eliminates the saliva in my mouth in dry and bitter goodness. Overall, while the wallop of this beer is impressive, it got taxing to finish it. A good can of beer to share with friends, because you could use the help.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Impressive black appearance with medium brown head. Nose is little weak but raster is rich and coffee and heavy malts. Palate is really long lasting with all dark notes.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
If you base your beer rating on color and head (DARK and big) this is a straight 5...but I don’t. It has those qualities but too much of a dark bitter taste at the end. Rendering it a good but not great stout.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma: malty with coffee undertones; good but not spectacular- improves as temperature warms; Appearance: pitch black with very dark tan head similar to chocolate milk; Taste: lots of maltiness, chocolate and coffee; a little boozy; Palate: very heavy bodied with long, more bitter than sweet finish; Overall: very nice, balanced imperial stout; would definitely buy again.

Pours black with small head. Roasted aroma, coffee, dark chocolate, lightly peated. Full bodied, smooth and very well balanced. Just lacking a bit of complexity.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
(33 cl can in wine glass.) Whoa, what an overrated beer. It for sure is a nice stout but for be definitely not something I’d stack up. Pours black as night with a lively brownish one finger head. Aroma is fruity, probably the fruitiest stout I’ve tried so far. I like that. Still has the classic roasted notes that follow through on the palate which is where the fun drops a few steps. Quite plain but full stout. For sure nothing to feel ashamed about, still on in the crowd..
