4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Don’t know how I never rated this beer as I’ve had it many times and always love it. Can into glass. Dark black in color with a small head. The color and consistency of the head reminds me of a dark chocolate hot chocolate. Almost creamy looking. Bad ass looking to say the least. Loads of chocolate in the aroma. Some plum and roasted barley are also present. Very nice stuff thus far. It’s the taste and texture that really nail it for me with this beer. Tons of dark chocolate through out this beer’s flavor. Some oats and barley are also present before this ends finishes slightly dry with a nice bit of bitterness. Could be the hops as it seems to have a little fruity character in the finish as well. Fucking awesome! This has a creamy body that really makes this beer shine. Not many imperial stouts are on this level with the texture (I’m looking at speedway, darkness, and expo). I may need to run to Wisconsin to grab another can of this to toss into a beef and barley soup I want to make this weekend.

Can, Brewdog Leicester. Black with a beige head. Oily and earthy with peppery, marzipan alcohol. Creamy dark chocolate with berries. Rich coffee with vanilla oak barrel and brown sugar. Some hints of soy sauce with toffee. Boozy, warming, damned good.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Can. It pours a dark oil black with a fluffy tan head. The aroma is dark chocolate, berries, licorice, coffee and vanilla. The flavor is intense with the roasted malts and dark chocolate flavors dominating. The alcohol is present early on but the finish is smooth.

Can from Beltramo’s in Menlo Park, CA. Aroma is chocolate fudge brownies. Taste is the same with some very mild bitterness. This is ALMOST, JUST BARELY, MAYBE too sweet. But it’s not. Very smooth.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Can. Pours a deep dark black/brown, thick, with a fluffy off white head. Aroma comes out as strong coffee, baking chocolate, caramel, and vanilla. Flavor follows suit with tons of bitter coffee, semi-sweet chocolate, and vanilla. Some alcohol burn present too. Full body, oily texture, average carbonation, and a bitter boozey finish. I’d go a little higher on this if the alcohol presence was hidden a little better.
