COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This titanic, immensely viscous stout is loaded with inimitable flavors of chocolate-covered caramel and coffee and hide a hefty 98 IBUs underneath the smooth blanket of malt. Ten FIDY (10.5% ABV) is made with enormous amounts of two-row malt, chocolate malt, roasted barley, flaked oats and hops. Ten FIDY is the ultimate celebration of dark malts and boundary-stretching beer.

Don’t know how I never rated this beer as I’ve had it many times and always love it. Can into glass. Dark black in color with a small head. The color and consistency of the head reminds me of a dark chocolate hot chocolate. Almost creamy looking. Bad ass looking to say the least. Loads of chocolate in the aroma. Some plum and roasted barley are also present. Very nice stuff thus far. It’s the taste and texture that really nail it for me with this beer. Tons of dark chocolate through out this beer’s flavor. Some oats and barley are also present before this ends finishes slightly dry with a nice bit of bitterness. Could be the hops as it seems to have a little fruity character in the finish as well. Fucking awesome! This has a creamy body that really makes this beer shine. Not many imperial stouts are on this level with the texture (I’m looking at speedway, darkness, and expo). I may need to run to Wisconsin to grab another can of this to toss into a beef and barley soup I want to make this weekend.

That’s a brute. Just about black, with a toffee coloured head that lasts longer than most of its ilk. Full body, but not gloopy or too oily. Complex aroma; dark chocolate, coffee and roasted malts with some cherry in the background. Flavour is a mixture of chocolate and creamy coffee, with some nuts and a touch of chilli. Very bitter finish.

Can from Beer Gonzo, Coventry. Liquorice, chocolate aroma. Taste is strong coffee, chocolate milkshake, slight herbal bitterness. Huge mouthfeel. Delicious.

Smells of roasted malts, super sweet chocolate and strong coffee at the end. Pitch black or in other words don’t get much if at all darker. Taste starts of a bit malty then goes super sweet chocolate with sweet dark roasted coffee slightly bitter dry ending. Full thick body with perfect carbonation for this style of brew. ABV hidden very well love how sweet and smooth this brew is. Nice work!

Can from a trade with sneakychi, many thanks! Pitch black color with beige head. Aroma is black chocolate, coffee, some roastiness, a bit spicy (chili-like). Taste is roasted malts, black chocolate, spicy chili catch, quite dry for this ABV, but also quite yeasty imho. Amazing balance, it?s light and dry while staying full and rich. A masterpiece of non-overwhelming ImpStout - complex and with a certain sessionability without feeling weak, which is very rare for ImpStouts. Great stuff in its own way. But it’s definitely different from most 100-percentile-ImpStouts, which are usually way thicker, and different from what I’d expected.

Impressive black appearance with medium brown head. Nose is little weak but raster is rich and coffee and heavy malts. Palate is really long lasting with all dark notes.

If you base your beer rating on color and head (DARK and big) this is a straight 5...but I don’t. It has those qualities but too much of a dark bitter taste at the end. Rendering it a good but not great stout.

Keg in craft beer house. Very dark and sinister but very flavoursome, aromatic and punchy.
