En trivelig Hefe Weizen med en veldig fremtredende smak av banan og nellik.Ikke min favoritt (jeg synes faktisk Hogarten smaker bedre), men absolutt et godt alternativ til "halvliter’n".

UPDATED: JUL 15, 2009 Draught, Oslo Mikrobryggeri. Bow-shaped trumpet with a collapsing head and lace dabs. Peach mistiness, not fully hazy. Authentic ripe estery aroma with banana, pepper, Hubba Bubba. Toffee apple and banana fizz, thinnish sherbety condition, clovey spice. ’Bananas galore’ chipped in Dirtman. No pithy US hops in sight, and it’s something of a relief. Clean, tanging and authentic, just lacking a bit of body. The pick of the beers sampled at the brewtap.

Draught at the brewpub. Hazy yellow coloured with a medium sized creamy white head. Sweet and fruity aroma dominated by bananas with notes of spices and citrus. Fruity flavour of bananas, citrus, spices and hops. Hoppy and spicy finish.

Stale, thin, lacks of concentration. Too strong aroma of banana esther. Some citrus notes. Lacks freshness and complexity. Short. Bad weizen, tastes like a pure extract brew or a faulty mash. And, yes, tried it several times with same result. Sorry, but this is not a good example of the style at all and overall a dull brew.

Draught @ OMB. Slightly hazy, pale golden body with a medium white head. Aroma is quite typical, banana, yeast and spicy. Flavor is refreshing citrus with some lemon. I find this really refreshing and well balanced.

On tap 29 Jun 07. Pale golden. Unclear. A tiny(!) head. Weak spicy aroma. Spicy flavor. A bit carbonated. Unvaried with no distinct aftertaste.

Nice, light floral aroma. The color was yellow, but it seems like it was overly filtered as there wasn’t as much of the cloudiness I’d expect in a Hefe-Weizen. There were some lemons in the taste, it was a little bit sour. It has a smooth light mouthfeel and after taste. This would make for a good session beer.

Light white head slowly departs from the rather dark, golden to amber pour. Warming fruity nose, playing more in the ester than phenol ballpark with citrusy lime/lemon flavors backed by solid banana puree and a firm dose of supporting hops. The mixture works pretty well to make a very fresh impression. Medium bodied, expansive, yet easy-going carbonation. A very satisfying first half-pint at this favorite Norwegian brewpub of mine.

UPDATED: MAY 27, 2007 On tap @ the brewpub. 2007 version [very different compared to the previous (06) batch]. Tiny and quickly diminishing beige head over a cloudy, dark orange colored, soft carbonatied body. Pleasant aroama of sweet citrus and floral hops. Taste is fresh with an initial flavor of lemonade and yellow apples, followed by banana, mild spices and sweet berries in the aftertaste. Almost no hopbitterness . Smooth, soft and easy, and utterly refreshing. Moreish!

On tap at the brewpub. Served too hot. Pale yellow-golden and a small, white head. Weak aroma with banana and some cloves. Sweet flavor with banana and grainy notes. Creamy, carbonated mouthfeel, but a bit thin and sticky. The finish has some lemony notes, as well as banana and spices. Not worth returning for. (060827)
