COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our imperial stout aged in brandy barrels for five months. This beer symbolizes the fight that small breweries have to go through in order to get established in a market poisoned with greedy distributors, corporate idealism and fat cats with deep pockets. The small guy can still survive if they have enough true grit and work ethic. Feel the anger.

Thanks to Jeff for trading this one to me. Pours black in color with a small off-white head. Nose is full of brandy and vanilla with a bit of oak. Plenty of roast, dark fruit, and cocoa as well. The flavor is quite bold. A touch of booze but an overall enjoyable brandy and vanilla component. Strong roasted malt and dark chocolate with an undertone of dark fruit. This was really quite good.

Bottle shared by b3shine. Poured dark brown color with an average frothy brown head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Heavy roasted coffee, chocolate, sweet wood aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy dark sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration. My expectations where exceeded.

750mL on the RBSG bus. Rich bourbon and oak nose. Muddy deep brune pour with small mocha foam. Taste is very dry and over oaked. Mildly bitter and coffee/chocolate. Easy to drink. Nice enough. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle thanks to Deyhola. Pours very dark brown -almost black - with tan head. Nose and taste of brandy, roast chocolate malt, creamy milk chocolate, vanilla and oak. Medium body or slightly less than that for the style. A bit of brandy alcohol in the finish.

On tap at Tornado Steakhouse. Poured deep brown with not much head sticking around. The aroma was heavy and roasty, with lots of brewer’s licorice, burnt black malts, and a touch of honey present.. a little salty/onion-y character threw me off on the back of the nose. The flavor found burnt licorice, molasses, and ashy roast with a lot of dry earth and pine bitterness around.. spicy and warm on the back, with peppery Brandy notes leading.. too astringent to be very enjoyable. Heavier-bodied with low carbonation on the palate.. again more astringent than I was looking for.

Old brew, aged nicely. Very much barrel forward, very smooth and easy-goign.

Bottle from the brewery. Pours black with a dark chocolate brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of roasted malt and dark grain with backing raisin and brandy. Flavor has roast and dark grains with a bit of dark fruit, particular raisin, with backing brandy.

3/4/13. 750mL discovered in a random tub in the aftermath of RBWG... thanks, whoever! Shared with cbfobes. Deep brown pour, not quite black, with plenty of reds under a small khaki head that I had to work for and it was still loose and soapy and didn’t last. I can smell the sweet booziness before I even raise the glass, but not necessarily in a bad way. Sweet grapey booziness in the aroma with acidic ash, barrel, alcohol, and some sort of almost off-putting almost oxidized aspect. Rich sweet grapey flavor, almost tart, with an ashy roast kick, and lingering bitter roast. Nice.
