This American IPA is brewed with nothing but base malt and the highest alpha acid hops available. Special release, pilot batch brewed in early summer, and served on tap at the brewery in July 2010.

It was a brutally hot day and I was offered this self proclaimed "obnoxious deranged intense" bottle and I thought "it's just too hot for a intense IPA".But what a great beer! Malty on the tongue at first followed by that hoppy middle taste and a smooth finish of hops. It was a nice IPA and not as extreme as advertised ---Rated via Beer Buddy

A nice IPA. Amber gold color, ample white head. Pronounced hop aroma. A nice balance between hops and malt. The hops aren’t over the top, but quite pleasing.

Excellent IPA. Big IBU yet tangy, very drinkable stuff well crafted. A generous amount of lasting head.. A little cloudy golden. Mango, grapefruit, resiny. Bottle from 20 West Wine and Spirits.

(bottle) Pours a clear gold color with a very thin white head. Nose holds a lot of fruity smells such as honeydew melon, strawberry, peach, orange, and pineapple. Flavor holds some canned mandarin orange, clementine, strawberry, and grapefruit that overrides a subtle malt sweetness. This sweetness quickly falls off in the finish as an overwhelming bitterness lives up to the beer’s namesake, and it gets to be too much for my liking as it takes on a medicinal note. Mouthfeel is medium and the carb is dialed in. Overall this is a decent beer. I really enjoyed the aroma, but did not particularly care for the whoopin’ that the hops put on my tastebuds in the finish.

Pours a hazy golden yellow color with a nice dissipating white head. Nose is like a bowl of fresh citrus, mainly grapefruit. Taste is sweet grapefruit with nice bitterness, full of flavor. Finish is dry and ends with fresh bitter sweet citrus. A very nice IPA. Quaff Score 8 / 10

Pours a cloudy orange with an off white head and aroma of hops and citrus. Taste is bittersweet, of hops, pine, citrus, and grapefruit with a nice striking bitter, dry finish. Delicious IPA

Bottle thanks to Chi, brought back from WI. Pour is a light hazy burnt orange, with a really dense slightly off white head that lasts and lasts, leaving beautiful lacing in its wake. Aroma is somewhat muted by this dense cap of foam, but when it’s released, it’s really, really nice. Huge grapefruit pitch, lots of resiny pine, floral and herbal notes. Grassy, without being vegetal. Just a massive amount of citrus blasts out of the glass with each swirl. Taste is more piney, with just a touch of lightly caramelized malt backing, but really not much else but hops. Long bitter finish, nice carbonation level. Really one of the better IPA’s I have had in a long time! Thanks again Chi!

Pours a hazy yellow color with a modest, white foamy head. Aroma has a solid mix of resin and citrus hops nose with a modest amount of strong grassy hops at the end. Flavor starts off a bit off and I am not sure what flavors are creating it but the best I can describe it is kinda weedy(?). After this subsides, some mild citrus grapefruit, pineapple and light pine sneak in before some slightly toasted malt presence kicks in at the very end. Light/modest body, low carbonation, oily presence on top of the beer when light hits it (actually get the oil slick look to it). Overall a good brew but not as good as their other hopped brews. Seems to be a bit rough at the start with some flavors not melding as well as they should. Still a good, enjoyable brew.
