This American IPA is brewed with nothing but base malt and the highest alpha acid hops available. Special release, pilot batch brewed in early summer, and served on tap at the brewery in July 2010.

On tap at Sugar Maple. Clear gold/amber with a medium off-white head. Aroma is orange, pine, grass and grapefruit with very little malt. Orange and grapefruit flavor with some pine and sweet malt before a bitter grapefruit rind finish.

A well-designed IBU delivery vehicle - a mildly sweet, clean malt base braces the palate, but after that itís all bitterness and peppery and citric hops - despite the high hop acids, it manages to not be abrasive - sadly, there is a bit of cheesy hop flavor that detracts from the other pleasant characteristics - still a solid ipa.

Sampled on draught during GTMW 2010 Festival in Madison, Wisconsin. Pours a semi-hazy golden amber colored brew with a thick and rocky off-whtie head that has some excellent retention and lacing. Aroma of mostly citrus hops. No doubt thereís more than the 3 Cís of hops in this powerful IPA with a hint of tangerine and a light caramel malt base beer. Taste has a citrusy bitterness to the níth degree. Flavors close to a double IPA without the alcohol bite as detected in most imperial IPAs. Finish has more citrusy bitterness than their Lupulin Maximus IPA, and without a barleywine profile. One of the highest IBU, West Coast caliber IPAs of the festival. My tongue was IPA shocked for at least 15 minutes which gave me an excuse to take a time-out and visit the Baumgartners food stand for Limburger cheese & red onion on rye. Another excellent offering from Oso!

12oz bottle. Unfiltered orange-tan. Big soapy, steady head. Dry, bitter, resinous hop aroma...something a little bit off in there too, factory metal-plastic sweetness. Iíve had this beer numerous times on tap. even on nitro. Never realized it was only 7%. it doesnít really come off so big I suppose, but there is some intense bitterness, Itís sort of one-dimensional though, mostly soapy dryness. Doesnít really come together all the way, sort of bold up front but just fades on you. Still pretty enjoyable, and those hop tones do come out the more you sip on it..

Cloudy golden coloured body with a thick, two centimetre tall pitch white head with even more of a chewy, witty look - very nice. Aroma of super pungent and potent grassy, herbal, resinous and grapefruity hops, and not much else, aside from maybe a bit of candy sugar. Medium-bodied; Assertive effervescence with a big floral and grassy hop kick with a relatively short grapefruit kick, given the tons of hops - but the balance is off somewhat with not much malt showing through at all. Aftertaste is nice, but simple, with just the resinous and grassy hops coming through and nothing else - no malt, no alcohol and no sugar, just hop bitterness, which is nice, just simple. Overall, a very nice and intensely hopped IPA, but the complexity doesnít ever start and the other flavours are no where to be found. Definitely worth trying if you can get it and like IPAs, but sadly still doesnít compare to West Coast IPAs. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Ridgeview Liqour in Green Bay, Wisconsin on 29-July-2012 for US$1.89 sampled at home in Washington on 04-September-2012 a few hours before leaving again for Milwaukee.

Nitro Tap. Pours clear golden, medium supper creamy white head, lasts forever, great lacing. Aroma is pot, grapefruit, orange. Flavor is the same, medium honey sweetness, light dank potty citrus bitterness. Not harsh. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel. Interesting and tasty.

12oz bottle from jmagnus off my charity box win from his generosity. Poured an uglier lightly muddied apple cider amber body with a smaller frothy white head. Aroma of green apple skins, wet bread, older resiny hop cones, rotting citrus. Medium to slightly thicker bodied with average carboantion and a lingering flavor on the aftertaste. Flavor of breads, caramel, rotting citrus meat, older hop cones, touch of cardboard for some reason and a hint of tea. Decent overall but not blown away. Still big thanks to Josh for the hookup on this one.

Aroma is pine and juicy citrus. The flavor is grapefruit, mild sweetness, citrus, a hint of tropical fruit/berries and a mix of bitterness and tangy in the finish.

12oz bottle courtesy of GhostFace. Cheers, Neal! Pours a hazy yellow-orange with a white head. Nose is a nice bit of caramel, orange, apricot, and mild pine notes. Flavor is similar- orange and apricot with pine and light alcohol on the back end. Light to medium in body with lingering pine. Nice iipa overall. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
