2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
12 ounce bottle from Badger in Beloit. If Beloit, Wisconsin has a better beer store, Iíd be surprised. Then again, Beloit College REJECTED me so I donít exactly have an encyclopedic knowledge of the town. Pours a hazy amber color with a very large frothy offwhite head. Good head retention and lacing. Slightly green floral hop aroma with a bit of a chlorine note. The taste is candied citrus, chemical notes, faint malts. Tastes weird. Kinda like how Iíd expect windshield cleaner to taste. The palate starts strong but instantaneously falls flat. This is just a weird beer.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Date: September 6, 2011 Mode: Bottle Source: Ridgeview Liquor, Green Bay, WI Appearance: Opaque hazy orangish brown, slight head and lacing. Aroma: Hoppy, pine and pineapple. Flavor: Consistent with aroma, thin bodied and a little watery. Other: Not a ton of taste here and I was expecting a bigger finish at the end but it just didnít happen.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Hazy light orange pour with a thin white head. Aroma of pineapple (thanks Landon - my 4-year-old aroma expert! Note that he is not an associate taster on my team!), pine, and hop. Medium palate. Taste is citrus hop - I like it. I think this is underrated.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
12 oz bottle I picked up somewhere in Wisconsin. Pours a cloudy copper color with a small white head that soon fades to a film. The aroma is moderate in strength with pine, grapefruit and some sweet grains. The taste features sweetened cereal grains hopped up with Mt Hood & Cascade type hops and a bit of caramel. The palate is full with prickly carbonation. Finishes short with a trace of cooked vegetables. Overall: Not bad for an APA, but it ainít no SNPA. Paired well with some aged Jarlsberg cheese.

This beer is really pretty decent, but still nothing much to it. I like some more complexity.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Iím surprised by the low scores. Hopdinger would be a staple in my fridge if it was locally distributed. Purchased at Woodmanís Market in Kenosha. Pours an amber, with good carbonation and an off white head. Aroma is grassy with citrus notes. Taste is earthy, bitter and even a bit buttery. Somewhat thin, crisp, with a dry finish. Solid Ale from Oso

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle to snifter. Pour is dark amber copper color with a very quick off white head that fades. Aroma is earthy malt grain metallic and nothing. Taste is caramel metallic malts with hints of subtle bitterness. Palate is thin watery with a dry finish. So so brew with minimal strong suits, but refreshing.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Not bad at all. Solid malt base with fresh bread, with aromatic and mildly bitter hops. Very drinkable, and a dry finish. Clear, brown beer.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Underrated by a bit. Not a stunning beer, but a decently balanced pale ale with a few off notes. Probably lighter hopping than many American beer geeks prefer. Bottle.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz bottle from the Wisco/Minnesota trip. Getting there on finishing these up. Pours a decent amber glowing hue, touches of haze grow with more golden glowing edges. Well carbonated with a fairly big beige head that cakes, laces ok overall and dies to a thicker film. Aromas are a blend of sweet malts, pale grainy breads meet a healthy portion of toffee, caramel, and toast moving into florals and grass, touches of fragrant soap, and a decent kick of citrusy lemon, grapefruit. Deadened a bit. Crisp, decent hopping. Initial is lighter end of medium bodied preaching some clean bitter hops up front, grassy, floral and a touch metallic. Some deadened fruitiness, florals, touches of gumball and a bit of grapefruit and tropical fruit. Subtle, with a decent dry bitter finish, grass and florals. This one wants to let the fruity hops in, but it really only gives a subtle lighter feel for them. A bit of orange, grapefruit. Instead, staying dry and earthy hopped, maybe a bit sharp in some parts. The more healthy malt body on the nose is a bit softer than I anticipated, sweeter bread and biscuits, toast, not venturing too much into the thicker sweeter caramel. Finish is clean, mellow malty biscuits and dry grass and florals. Ok, lacking complexity. Itís a solid beer but seems to lack depth and a vibrant flavor. Ok. Has an exceptionally strong carbonation that could use some fine tuning.
