Not bad at all. Solid malt base with fresh bread, with aromatic and mildly bitter hops. Very drinkable, and a dry finish. Clear, brown beer.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Underrated by a bit. Not a stunning beer, but a decently balanced pale ale with a few off notes. Probably lighter hopping than many American beer geeks prefer. Bottle.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz bottle from the Wisco/Minnesota trip. Getting there on finishing these up. Pours a decent amber glowing hue, touches of haze grow with more golden glowing edges. Well carbonated with a fairly big beige head that cakes, laces ok overall and dies to a thicker film. Aromas are a blend of sweet malts, pale grainy breads meet a healthy portion of toffee, caramel, and toast moving into florals and grass, touches of fragrant soap, and a decent kick of citrusy lemon, grapefruit. Deadened a bit. Crisp, decent hopping. Initial is lighter end of medium bodied preaching some clean bitter hops up front, grassy, floral and a touch metallic. Some deadened fruitiness, florals, touches of gumball and a bit of grapefruit and tropical fruit. Subtle, with a decent dry bitter finish, grass and florals. This one wants to let the fruity hops in, but it really only gives a subtle lighter feel for them. A bit of orange, grapefruit. Instead, staying dry and earthy hopped, maybe a bit sharp in some parts. The more healthy malt body on the nose is a bit softer than I anticipated, sweeter bread and biscuits, toast, not venturing too much into the thicker sweeter caramel. Finish is clean, mellow malty biscuits and dry grass and florals. Ok, lacking complexity. It’s a solid beer but seems to lack depth and a vibrant flavor. Ok. Has an exceptionally strong carbonation that could use some fine tuning.

Light pour. Faint aroma and flavor. Pretty bland and watered down. Lacks any mildly strong hop presence.

What a wonderful citrus aroma. This leads me to disappointment as the taste does not match the scent.

This is a great sessionable beer. A nice amber color with slight head with aroma of citrus. Not as hoppy as I would like but for being a pale ale this beer really does fit to style because I believe most are hoping for hopdinger to be an IPA

Tried this beer at the Casanova Beer Cave Festival (2011), had a strong but smooth bite.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle - Pours clear amber with a nice foamy off-white head. Burst of pine and light citrus hops on the nose. Very nicely balanced, with sweet malt to offset the hops. Smooth and sessionable, with the malt more prominent in the taste. It’s lightly sweet and bready, with a grassy, piney hop note that lingers through the finish. A few off flavors in the finish--a sour malty note and a touch of heat shining through. A little too much carbonation might make this a stomach-bloater, but overall a pretty solid effort.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pleasant surprise. Poured with a small to medium sized light tan head that quickly subsided to a light cover and a bit of lace. Color is a very slightly hazy medium amber with some bubble trails. Aroma is malt, bread dough, and over ripe fruit. Flavor was just slightly out of balance blend of malt, pine resin, fruit, a bit of roast and carbonic acid. Body is ok but carbonation is aggresive. Finish is like flavor with the pine resin stretching out for a while.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
This beer pours a clear orange color with a medium fluffy off-white head that evaporates slowly. Sticky rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of piney hops and sweet malt. Medium body with a moderately bitter hops character with notes of pine and caramel malt. The finish is resiny hops with a short pine aftertaste. Decent overall.
