This pale ale is generously hopped yet balanced through the use of Munich and Crystal malts. Hops added after fermentation gives this American classic an intense aromatic bouquet. Enjoy!

12oz bottle poured into a Surly pint glass. I picked this one up on my recent trip to the Motherland. Pours a dark rusty amber with barely a sheet of lace on top. The nose is a little musty with notes of wood, green veggies, and malt. This fades out to a sweet syrup like aroma that is quite pleasant though. There’s a good amount of bubbles bolstering this beer. Good creamy smooth finish, but a tad drying. The hops in this beer aren’t all that juicy and flavorful, though they do impart a good amount of bitterness. Biscuity malt with a lack of residual sweetness. This is a dry, bitter beer, that is decent, but not all that refreshing. I probably wouldn’t reach for this one again, as there are scores of better options of this style out there.

Super fruity aroma - citrussy and piney. Rich orange, tight head. Very fizzy palate, needed loads of swirling to make it drinkable. Then it was malty and fruity. Very drinkable and refreshing, crisp even. Very nice fresh hoppy beer, shame it was so fizzy.

12 oz bottle. At the Konttori, Tampere, Finland. Clear amber color with a small to midsize bubbly off-white head. Candy and fruity hops, mild bitterness, sweetness, butterscotch and some maltiness in the aroma. The flavor is tea, dry resiny hops, mild bitterness, mild buttery notes and malt. Decent pale ale. Not a typical American brew. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap@ccc. Coppery clear. Orange tangerenes, bit straw malty pale nose. Lightish bodied, quite fruity, pretty clean. Straw malty, orangy citrus, some nettles, green citrus. Finishes steep dry bitter. Ok flavours, bit of a harsh finish.. and bitter overall.

Bottle. Hazy deep golden brown with an off white head. Floral pine with light mango and brown sugar. Bready yeast with toffee and stewed autumn fruit. Light herbal bitterness. Not quite as impressive as all the adjectives on the label.

When I first picked up the bottle I thought: "Hamdingers!!! Oh boy!!! The processed ham product of the 70s!" Alas it was not to be. This stuff is O So Gay.....or not....either way its not Blatz. So there is that. I would drink it again, if I had to, but as long as the Blatz is flowing like Hamm’s I doubt if it will ever cross my palate again.
