The second you open this bottle there is no mistaking that this is not your average IPA. Massive hop additions of the most obnoxious breeds put this taste bud burner in a league all itís own. Our bet is that you will think it is Oíso Freakishly good! Caution! This brew is 9% and may contain a hop cone in every bottle (2009 to present vintages) ! We want to make sure to repeat this reminder that we put a hop cone in the bottle. Always pour into a glass to release the essence from the bottle.

2008 Edition: 22-oz bottle

Orange and very cloudy with a fair head and decent sticky lacing that lasted. Aroma is earthy, perhaps a little of the onion that some people say certain hops gives beer, plenty of citrus and pine needle hops, and lots of earthy malts. Taste is similar to the smell but the sensations seem to come in a different order... first up is almost malt-bomb amounts of maltiness, followed by sweet fruits and sticky, oily, pungent hops. Earthy and syrupy, with a little obvious alcohol. Body is very thick, slick, oily with a sweet, slick, heavy finish. Overall itís quite interesting but is perhaps a little over the top. The hop cone in the bottle probably adds some nice aroma, but appearance may have suffered because of this. Itís a bit gimmicky and probably unnecessary.

Nice big imperial IPA. Sweeter than expected at first with some spicey and herb-like tones.

On tap at Old Fashioned, pours a clear copper with a thin white head, the aroma has a good amount of citrus and pine on the nose, the flavor has a nice tropical fruit front end but finishes more sweet than hoppy, good amount of malt in the finish, pretty balanced though, not bad.

Nice hazy copper color. Hits you in the face with the aroma. Very drinkable. Good find on a road trip.

Pours a deep cooper with 2 fingers of off white head, and a hop cone. Nose and taste are nice and citrus with a touch of pine. Taste follows suit. I know the hop cone gimmick is a bit cheese ball, but I dig it, it works for me. Iím a fan Of this brew for sure.

12 oz. bottle. Poured hazy copper with off white ring of head. Whole hop cone remained in neck of bottle. Sweet malty nose. Flavor also of sweet malts with notes of caramel and raisins. Dry finish. Wondering how long this bottle had been aging on the shelf?

Pours a cloudy copper with a a fading white head. Contains a fat hop cone that dropped into my glass, which I will classify as appearance. Cool! Aroma is darker and fruitier, with orange, plum, caramel, grapefruit, and touches of vanilla undertones. Taste is mango, plum, orange, and caramel and vanilla being underneath. Heavier aftertaste is the darker fruit. Medium bodied with a thick texture. With the hop cone present, this one shockingly lacks the expected hops. Its very sweet instead. This isnít among my favorites. It isnít bad, but more disappointing.

Sweet heavy mouth. Lots of tropical fruit. Finish is very dry and hoppy. I loved the mouthfeel. Full & creamy. Aroma is full of sweets and sugar. The hop cone in the bottle is pretty cool too.

Bottle at home. The whole cone in the bottle is pretty awesome. Poured a bright copper with a small off-white head that quickly dissipated. Smell is earthy, dirty, caramel, and light spiciness. Taste is earthy hops, quite dirty, orange peel, heavy caramel and just very malt-forward. It has lost a ton of its hop character and I really wish I could have this one fresh. Medium mouthfeel with high carbonation. Really past itís prime and subpar at best.

Iím hoping that since this isnít from 2010 considering itís a double IPA. Poured through a hop cone, which wedged itself at the mouth of the bottle, into a glass. Murky orange with little Lacing. Carmel, herbs, alcohol and resin. Certainly not fresh, but surprisingly tasty
