3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle at home. The whole cone in the bottle is pretty awesome. Poured a bright copper with a small off-white head that quickly dissipated. Smell is earthy, dirty, caramel, and light spiciness. Taste is earthy hops, quite dirty, orange peel, heavy caramel and just very malt-forward. It has lost a ton of its hop character and I really wish I could have this one fresh. Medium mouthfeel with high carbonation. Really past itís prime and subpar at best.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 15/20
Iím hoping that since this isnít from 2010 considering itís a double IPA. Poured through a hop cone, which wedged itself at the mouth of the bottle, into a glass. Murky orange with little Lacing. Carmel, herbs, alcohol and resin. Certainly not fresh, but surprisingly tasty

3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
The appearance of a hop in a beer is REALLY cool but the flavor is not as good as good as Bellís Hopslam so I will spend my money on Hopslam next time.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle with hop cone in it, how cool. pours light copper with a whitish head. Aromas are sweet citrus like clementine and pink grapefruit. Taste are much the same with big citrus notes and nice balance with bittering hops. Overall, a delicious beer that is more than just a novelty.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz. bottle. Pours a hazy burnt orange with a very thin head. Aroma is sweet and fruity with a thick layer of biscuit malt. Big floral and citrus hop flavor with a thick, creamy malt background. Pine comes through in the long lingering finish. Creamy, medium bodied with no carbonation to speak of. A very powerful and flavorful beer.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a deep, hazy amber with a small beige head that recedes to a thin collar.
Aroma is sweeter than I was expecting with candied apples, caramel malts and light fruits - peaches come to mind. There isnít a lot of citrus or pine that I get in the nose.
Taste has a bit more citrus with some oranges up front, but the caramelized sugar and sweet malts are still a big player and the finish is sweet with hints of pine but mostly a lingering sweetness.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied but low on carbonation and comes across a little syrupy with the heavy sweetness dominating the palate.
In case you hadnít noticed, this is a very sweet DIPA, very light on the hops. Itís not bad but itís not one of my favorites.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Murky orange-amber with a minimal, large-bubbled head. Nose is caramel, tropical fruit, hearty biscuit, grapefruit, and resin. Huge blast of ORANGE in the flavor, all wrapped up in a hefty malt backbone. Oily, medium heft body. The hulking malt backbone balances the ample bitterness to a perceived ímediumí. Finish is lingering and much more bitter than the mid-palate would have suggested. The obtuse alcohol and lack of carb detracted from the enjoyment a bit. The orange blast, copious hops, and solid malt make me think this would be a great one to have out of a fresh keg. Thanks for the opportunity, Matt!

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
2010 bottle is one of my favorite beers.
2011 bottle is flat and something is really off. Drain pour on the 2nd bottle. Very disappointing as I am such a fan.

Bottle: The aroma consists of moderate caramel, candied fruit, and citrus. It pours a transparent amber with a small off-white head that leaves behind to thin webbing on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with caramel and light-moderate fruitiness. The finish has moderate sweet citrus notes and light grapefruit. Itís medium-full bodied with mild carbonation an slick/oily mouthfeel. Overall, I find this sitting in that grey area of "Is this an IIPA or Barley Wine?"

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
A hazed amber DIPA with a thin off white head, with floating hops in the bottle. In aroma, sweet musty malt with light pinhey hops, nice. In mouth, a nice smooth biscuit malt with pinhey hops, vinous notes, catnip, very nice and earthy. Bottle at Istmus Beer and Cheese Fest, Jan 21 2012.
