Super oil black pour at tempest in Madison. Brown head. Rich chocolate aroma - malty. Crazy coffee cocoa milky taste. One of the better porters I've ever had

12oz bottle poured into a shaker. Pours almost black with less than half a finger of nut brown head. Aroma of coffee and chocolate with a little dark fruit and some tart cherry skin. A little red wine in there also. Taste is light bitter. Coffee and dark chocolate with a little tart red wine. Full bodied with a somewhat thin texture. Lively carbonation and a pretty long finish. Overall, pretty good. Something i would gladly drink again.

Very dark, nice slow fading head. Some coffee and tar on the nose. Nutty flavor with nice toasted malt and coffee finish. Full bodied. Nice porter.

Bottle, Standard Market. Pours dark brown, nearly black. Inviting tan head. Smells of lightly roasted coffee beans, milk chocolate, salty licorice, and marzipan. First sip is nice creamy chocolate again, with bitter roasted coffee again, and a pine hop finish. Mouthfeel turns noticeably thin as it warms. Otherwise this is well made, good depth and complexity.

Sampled at DLD 2013. It poured a dark brown color with a dark brown head. The aroma was of deep roasted malts, dark chocolate and a shade of smoke. The taste was full bodied, chewy, roasted malts. There was a slight smoke in the aftertaste and dark chocolates as well. Great beer.

Not my favorite dark porter. Very dark black pour. hints of coffee and chocolate in the finish. not as creamy as I would have liked in a porter.

Pours dark brown, nearly black with nearly zero head just a touch of off white foam. Nice roast greets the nose followed by some coffee and maybe some cocoa powder. Tastes huge, lots of even roast flavor, minimal hops and some caramel hints. Overall this is a huge porter. A lot bigger in flavor and body than I was expecting. I would love to keep this around the fridge at all times.

Got a six pack of this on a trip to Milwaukee. They put a number of adjectivesfo it on the label. Its unexpectedly good. Thought it might a north Wisconsin cheapy, but no, its quite a quality taste. Wish to see it in Saint Louis.
