3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
A nice bold creamy porter with the right amount of heft. If you’re looking for a decent porter, this is a good choice. Appreciated it first on tap at Trollhaugen Ski Area, it made me an O’SO fan.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle at The Roebuck, Leek (Titanic) 6.7% Pours a black colour with a fizzy beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, vanilla and some caramel. Taste of roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, vanilla, slight lactose and some cherry. Medium bodied and moderate carbonation. A lingering, roasted bitterness in the finish. A robust, roasty porter which is very complex. Tastes similar to a milk stout but with a lot more body, like an imperial milk stout but overall a flavourful, but easy drinking, light porter. So weird but delicious.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle, shared by me... in my dining room... just now.
Pours basically black with a big head and nice lacing on the glass.
The aroma is rich and roasty without coming off as terribly sweet. It’s got a bunch of chocolate and some mild coffee, some light berry, and just a touch of chalk and dark fruit.
The flavor is very pleasantly roasty without displaying any manner of abuse with roasted malt bitterness. There is a nice mild bitterness throughout much of which seems hop driven. It’s not overly sweet, but certainly lightly so, it’s got a nice chocolate and mild caramel character to it and as it warms more berry comes out. The only thing that bugs me a little is that it’s boozy, like noticeably so it wouldn’t surprise me one bit if this were a 9% abv Imperial Porter. I’d love to see the same beer dialed down in alcohol by about 2% because everything else here is just delicious.
