4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Had it from the bottle poured into a snifter glass. Smell is of roasted coffee with a nice subtle chocolate undertone. It is dark chocolate in appearance with a beautiful very light milk chocolate head. The taste is just as it smells, except the chocolate really comes through at the end. Overall, this beer could be one of, if not the best, Wisconsin Porters I’ve had!!

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz. bottle. Roasty, chocolate aroma, toasty, plenty of dark malts and a hint of coffee present, along with a lightly doughy yeast touch in the background (bottle-conditioned). Dark brown, nearly black in color, with a slight but lasting light tan head. Flavor profile is roasty and deeply malty, with suggestions of cocoa, coffee, faint smoke and an earthy, herbal hop character appearing late, finishing toasty, moderately bitter and with a certain tangy quality. Effervescent is fine but persistent, mouthfeel is quite dry and just a little bit thin, body is medium. Pretty tasty.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from a friend. My first beer from Oso. Pours dark brown to black with a half finger off white head. Aroma of strong chocolate goodness with some heavy roast malt in the background. Flavor follows with chocolate as the highlight and plenty of bitter roasted malt on the finish. Just a bit of dark fruit to go along. Velvety smooth mouthfeel with lowish carbonation. Very nice body. Overall a solid porter.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours black with a big tan head that settles slowly. Roasty aroma contains coffee, chocolate, vanilla, and hints of cherry and smoke. The taste brings out more chocolate than other impressions. There is less coffee here, and very minor vanilla flavors. The cherry comes through more throughout, all ending in a short aftertaste of chocolate and cherry. Medium in body with a thin and creamy texture. Carbonation is flat. This one is very easy to drink. This might not be the best porter around, but it is still solid.

Bottle. The look is brownish black in color, thin tan head, and and dark. The smell is malt, coffee, cocoa, dirt, and oreos. The taste is the same but not as appealing.

Not bad. Not my preferred porter. A little watery, but it makes it a bit more sessionable. Aroma is nice, a subtle sweetness. Tastes like weak coffee.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12oz bottle, picked up along the road in WI, IX/13. Solid tasty, pitch black porter with overtones of roasty, blackened malts, coffee beans and cocoa. Mid-full palate, creamy, easily drinkable, if not as complex as advertised.
