Dark amber pour with a khaki head. Nose of cherry, raisin, caramel, and red wine vinegar. Hints of lemon, some oak, and a nice fruit jam sweetness. The flavor is a good balance of sweet and sour. Cherry, raisin, berries, and grapes. Some red wine vinegar, a bit of oak, and light lemon notes. Caramel and chocolate malt sweetness, too.

750mL thanks to nmann08. Pours a muddy mahogany, weaker beige foam. Nose is cranberry, blueberry, red wine, currant, mild buttery oak barrel. Taste is salty, red wine. Buoyant, saltwater palate. Long heavy lime finish. Very good.

Bottle shared by Eric, thanks! Pours a cloudy brown with a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a nice sour acidic red fruits with a nice funk Brett note. Flavor starts with sour red fruits supported by funk with a bit of sweet grain in the finish.

It does has more than brett in it. This seemed like a pretty classically done Oud bruin. Sour, acidic, proabbly a medium to high sourness. It is smoothe though, big oak and vanilla notes go with the sourness well. It isn’t complex and subtle but it is damn sour and tasty.

Draft pour on tap at GTMW 2012 (Madison, WI). Pours a richer deeper brown copper hue, some glow, deep haze, frothy tannish head atop stays as a mellow layer, laces ok. Aromas are some sour cherry, bits of toffee, mellow vinegar, touch of oak. Nice sourness, not acidic as touches of oak, red wine vinegar, sour cherries give life. Initial is lighter end of medium good tart sour element. Sour cherries, vinegar, oak. Touch of biscuit, straw, and funk. Really nice and balanced yet still an assertive sourness into the middle. Backend is lingering vinegar, red wine, oak, and sour cherry. Really simple Oud Bruin sour but really well done.

Bottle shared by Bob - thanks! Murky orangish brown pour with a smaller head. Super interesting! Brown ale / scotch ale elements, but they are in the background versus the Bretty sourness. Really flavorful.

From Skyview. The beer is a dark red. I smell balsamic vinegar and yeast. Sour flavor, and a dry, earthy quality. With some age, I expect this will get more sour still.

Tap at GTMW. Big surprise. Unfiltered brown. Big vinous ( rotten egg undertones) sour aroma and flavor. A touch more lactic, sour, and brutally unrefined than a Belgian, but damn nice too. A sour beast. Enjoyable.

On tap at Stubby’s. Ruby copper with a thin tan head. Aroma is sweet and sour at the same time with wild yeast, toffee, oak and mild fruit. Taste of oak, bretty yeast, toffee, darker fruits, some cherry. Finishes moderately dry.
