4.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
This has surpassed all other Amber/Red beers in terms of smoothness and maltyness for me. The description on the label is 100% accurate. With a solid 6 ABV you wouldn’t even realize, I would share this beer on cold fall or winter nights with someone who may not have yet discovered an appreciation for malty goodness.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap @ the Über Tap Room in the Wisconsin Cheese Shop, Milwaukee. Deeply hazy orange amber, tightly packed white head. Low aroma of fruity caramel, light butterscotch. Mild flavours of fruity caramel, low bitterness. Just ok.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz. bottle poured to a Czech-pils glass at the Cornerstone Tap in Bailey’s Harbor, WI.. Displayed a clear, brownish amber color, with decent persistence to the off white/light tan head foam, and fair waves & spots of lacing. The nose was light grain with a touch of dankness, some toastiness, caramel sweetness, and slight esters as apricot. Moderately lingering hop bitterness, with fair malt content, a little less than medium body, and okay carbonation. Paired well with the Packer win and the Sunday nite, fried chicken special.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a very deep amber with a thin beige head. Aroma is mostly bread with some minor impressions of caramel, nuts, and perhaps some very light fruitiness. The taste is heavy in caramel and bread. These flavors are complimented by cherry notes and nuts. There is slight buttery touch in here as well. Aftertaste consists of cherry and bread. Medium bodied, a texture that is clean yet a little thicker, with below average carbonation. This one is ok I suppose, but it isn’t anything worth remembering.

Awful. Clear dark gold pour. Flavor is bitter and rotten fruit. Nasty ass.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Sampled during CBC 2013. Amber pour with a small khaki head. Light aroma, some biscuit, cracker, bread, and caramel. Light malty flavor, caramel, a hint of nuttiness. Not bad.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
12oz bottle from Siebel. Pours a clear, red-orange colored body with a thin, creamy, off-white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a moderate lacing. Aroma is cooked corn, toasty toffee, fruity esters, bread, and a hint of earth. Flavor is better. Somewhat toasty toffees with a light caramel sweetness, bread, a light earth, and a few fruity notes. Finishes clean and somewhat dry with a bit of a buttery sweetness, a light bitterness, and some toasty toffees. Medium length aftertaste following a medium body and a soft, moderate carbonation. Overall, this wasn’t terrible, but it had some obvious flaws. Eh.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Rye bead and malty sirup, this rich beer is fairy okay. A upgrade from Rickard’s but not much more. Touch of maple flavours and a cherry sweetness at the end. Needs a bit more body and taste when compared to some other ales.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours a medium ruddy brown with a thin kakhi head. Aroma is nutty, light roast, caramel flavoring, light sweetness, earthy hops and a big dose of bread. Flavor is nutty, cereal grain, caramel, light roast, a hint of coffee, buttery toast, earthy hops and a light prune juice taste to the finish. Palate is light to medium bodied,a little oily throughout and lightly carbonated. Seems pretty good at first, but by the end of my glass I had grown tired of it’s unmitigated maltiness, maybe the buttery flavor and prune juice together. I don’t know, something just doesn’t quite click. The palate is a little strange as well.
