Dominator Dopplebock is a huge malty dopplebock dubbed the Hoppel bock because of its strong noble hop finish.

Thin light tan head of fine bubbles that does not last long. Nice strong malty aroma with some raisins, roasted grains, brown sugar and rye bread. Color is a dark mahagony brown. Rather lively mouthfeel with decent effervescence. Lots of sweet malts, roasted grains, burnt sugar and more raisin. Thick and oily mouthfeel. Noticable alcohol presence and warming. Lingering sickly sweet malts. A pretty good and representative dopplebock.

A really good doppelbock. Nice chocolate flavor with hints of cherry. Too bad I won’t keep any bottles in my fridge due to the questionable label.

Trying some of the whiskey aged version at the brewery. Very good. Sweet whiskey aroma. Slightly tart taste with a good amount of alcohol.

On tap @ Sugar Maple, Milwaukee. Dark brown, deep copper highlights. Sweet malty profile, lots of burnt sugars and brown bread, raisins and a touch of maple cream. Sweet and hearty.

Hazy deep red - amber brown beer with a decent pale tan head. Palate is airy and a little soft. Sweetish malt with a little toffee caramel. Mild aniseed. Nice chocolate streak with mild dried fruits. Touch of malt cream. Finishes semi dry. Well joined up and fruity bock.

Muddy brown color with a thin tan head. Sweet caramel aroma with a bit of spice. Flavor is spicy-sweet with a bitter, roasted background. Dry medicinal finish with a touch of caramel sweetness. Medium bodied and creamy on the palate. Doesn’t really seem like a doppelbock but it is good.

Not really a doppelbock but it is good. Huge coffee and cocoa flavors, some burnt caramel. Noble hops are there. I like it but it is definitely off-kilter for the style.

Poured dark brown with lacing head. Aromas of nuts and maybe mollases. Tastes of toasted malts. Decent sipping beer.

If I didn’t know any better, I would say I was drinking a Scottish style ale. Delicious brew here, with lots of caramel malt sweetness going on. Excellent mouthfeel as well. I’ll be trying more of these for sure.

Purchased at Breeze Thru Wine & Spirits in Milwaukee, WI; enjoyed on a night where I was supposed to have 2 fantasy football drafts and I ended up having 0. Appearance is a dark, murky, slightly sludgy brown with a very thin white rim. Aroma of rich, sweet caramel malt, a bit of plum/dark fruit, and smells a bit syrupy. Taste is pretty damn sweet and syrupy, the dark fruit notes come out a bit more, as well as a bit of toffee. Not bad stuff, I’m into it.
