750ml caged and corked bottle from Sonoma Cellars in Oconomowoc shared with bananabi11. Bit brett, cherry funky nose. Very tangy taste with only components of a sour and components of an IPA. Interesting. Tasty enough. 13.8

Bottle from Flask. ABV is listed as 6.7 %, but that’s on the importer’s label, and I don’t know how credible that is. Hazy prange with a white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, fruity, bretty and lemon. Flavor is medium sweet, moderate bitter and moderate acidic. Dry, moderate bitter and moderate acidic finish. 180916

750 ml bottle - undated, which normally wouldn’t bother me, but it says right on the bottle something about aging the thing, which is a lot harder if ya don’t know when the damn thing was brewed and/or bottled! - from Woodman’s in Janesville, WI, sampled a little below cellar temp fro a Duvel glass. Big pop as the cork is extricated with resistance....not a gusher though, just a moderate-to-large amount of foam, which dies off fairly quickly leaving some chunky residue above the luminous, hazy dark gold body...sour fruits (cherry, cranberry), shoe leather, plenty of brett initially; softer, riper and sweeter fruits like peach eventually emerge, but the brett character remains...quite tart initially in the mouth, moderate resinous hop notes showing up more than they did in the aroma, light fruity sweetness which gives way midpalate to a pretty intense and very dry sourness that carries all the way through to the end, which is dry, peppery and fairly bitter as well as sour, with a somewhat harsh woody and tannic quality present as well...very strongly carbonated, perhaps a bit too much so as the body feels at times like 7Up to me, and it’s a little thinner than it could be. While there is just a smidgeon of fruity sweetness upfront, overall this is among the driest American sour beers I’ve had, which certainly makes me even more excited to try the Funk Factory stuff; although I’m not sure I love this, I respect what they’re doing, and there is certainly no compromising going on here for American sugar-addict taste.

This is a Brett Pale Ale that I had on tap at O’so: Slight musty/earthy nose with a modest brett sour taste that retains its hoppiness. Nice bitter hop finish.

Bottle thanks to Team Wisconsin. Pours a orange gold with small off white head that lasts. The aroma is strong funk, oak, brett, floral. Thin mouth, brett, leather, oak, tart lemon, really enjoyed this.

750 ml bottle shared with the group from notes. Pours a hazy golden color with orange highlights and a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have big, funky Brett, pale malts, dust, wood, hints of herbal notes, mild fruit character, citrus, stone fruit, complex, interesting beer.
