Half, cask, handpump at New Oxford in Salford. Ruby dark body. Bubbly ring to the rim of the glass. Aroma is dark malty with a little roastiness. Dark malts mixed with resin and dark fruits to the taste character. Mild bittersweet ending. Nice enough for a mild (Greater Manchester, 05.07.2012).

Half pint on draught at the Tiger in Driffield. Good creamy head on a dark, dark red beer. Smells and tastes of nut and roast. Its a good blend.

Cask. Postern Gate (JDW), York. Medium off white head. Deep amber body. Mild malt, red fruit. Bittersweet.

On gravity at the Kingston beer festival, deep red-black with a thin lacy beige head, and a roast malt nose. Good chewy body with more roast malt plus dark fruit, a bit of toasted caramel and a light dry hoppy bitterness.
