Dark coloured and smooth on the palate. Slightly dry lasting chocolaty roast finish.

Mid brown red coloured. Fruity with a dry slightly bitter roast finish. Daniel_Brown (1919), Birmingham (via Leicester), West Midlands, England Jun 7, 2005 Hand pulled at the Wellington, Birmingham. Smooth choc flavour - consistent throughout. Nice sweetness and balance, with a prickle of sour dryness as you drink a little more. Gentle, but not too timid. A succulent example of the style. duff (5404), Sydney, Australia, Surrey, England Jun 29, 2004 Cask@Catford Beer Festival. Ground coffee in the aroma and flavour, some light chocolate and vanilla, light and soft, its OK i suppose. SilkTork (3853), Rochester, Kent, England Jun 28, 2004 Catford Fest. Gravity. Vanilla ice-cream flavour. Malt vinegar aroma. Toffee flavours come through. Kenco coffee aroma. A bit murky and confused. chris_o (4405), London, Greater London, England Jun 21, 2004 Ground coffee aroma with a hint of vanilla. Toffee flavour with a slight sour edge, but falls away and finishes short. Most Ossett ales are pale and they don’t have a mild in their regular portfolio. I imagine this was brewed for CAMRA’s "Mild Month" in May, but I don’t know whether it is a one-off, or will continue on a seasonal or permanent basis. This is a reasonable effort, but there is room for improvement. Cask (gravity), Catford Beer Festival.
