Cask, Swan & Rushes, Leicester. Golden with a white head. Aromas are floral and spicy with melon and lychee. Grapefruit with woody notes. Flavours are sweet citrus with grapefruit and autumn fruit. Peppery and spicy with a dry, grapefruit bitter finish. Some floral notes with chewy malts. A decent approximation of the style for itís strength.

Cask, Far From The Madding Crowd, Oxford. Pale gold, small dense white cap of foam. Grassy, chalky aroma. Lemony hop flavor, a hint of citrus, plum sweetness. Light body, fairly short finish.
Funny thing to come into FFTMC and have two APAs back to back. This one suffers a bit by comparison to the Dark Star APA, and is perhaps less an APA than a golden, but itís still a solid and very flavorful beer.

Cask at The Hop Pole pubs Easter Beer Festival, Aylesbury in the company of Loz, Chris O, Ruth, Barry, Lynn 21-03-08 Light golden in colour, sweet and fruity in taste but there is quite a striking bitterness there. The bitterness lingers for quite some time and the nose is also quite aromatic though not sure that I got the pine, but citrus was definately there, quite tasty and whilst at first I wasnít totally convinced of itís APA credentials I suppose that it does just about tick enough boxes to move it away from the more normal golden territory that Osset beers are most probably lumped into.
