Aroma is grassy hops, with a little amount of sulphur which breaks it a little. Taste is seriously minimal, very light body though quite bitter.

Pint from cask at kings arms near waterloo. Clear hazy gold pour once it’s settled with a thin white head aroma is grass and wet paper. Slightly cloying mouth feel. Smooth but lacking in much taste. Just a little green hops and grass.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pale golden in colour with a biscuit malt aroma. Hopping is very restrained with no citrus flavours that I could discern. In short, a typical English blonde with all that entails.

Cask (Grain & Hop Store, Cambridge) (6:3:6+:3+:13+=3.1+++)
Pale hay colour, brief head. Sweet light grains, plenty of lemony hops. Taste packed full of resiny citrussy hop - lemon and grapefruit. Soft light grains do back it up though. Finish resiny, and crisp. Refreshing and sessionable. Very nice golden, not as feeble as I feared - a good ale. Has the UK fixed its incipid golden problem? (2 out of 2 good so far.)

Cask at the Lord Eldon Knutsford. Clear light yellow body with creamy white head. Hops on the nose and nice hoppy bitterness on taste. Good session beer but not much to shout about.

Cask in the Station Inn, Whitby. A golden ale with a white head. A nice drinkable and refreshing beer with lots of citrus lemon. Quite smotth. Very good especially for something selling itself as a ’lager style’ beer.
