3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cask at the Newshouse, Nottingham. A pleasantly sweet stout, perhaps a bit thin on the palate. I don’t normally like Ossett beers, but this one isn’t bad.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
[cask at Red Lion, York] Dark blackish brown pour, decent off-white head. Very thick and syrupy, aromas of dark treacle, molasses and brown sugar. Some malt aromas as well. Chewy on the palate, dark sweet malt with liquorice finish. Nice, but a half is about enough – good on a cold night though

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
2nd December 2008. Very dark brown beer - light just passes through. Doesn’t look or feel like a stout! A little dark malt but fruity and tangy rather than roasty or chocolatey! Not bad but it ain’t a stout!
