MartinT (4377), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Jul 26, 2007 My Bottom Line:
Whispering toasted cereals and spritzy carbonation are spiced with just enough citrusy, grassy hops to balance everything out. There is nothing wrong with this Helles save for the fact that its flavor profile is desperately polite, even for the style.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A creamy head sets atop the darker golden than the Pilsener.
-The lean body makes this very drinkable.
-Some peachy fruitiness is discovered.
-There were better lager than this on the canal at Otaru Soko No.1.
-It was served a little too cold for immediate enjoyment.
-This one was called "Jerez" in the English menu...Pronounce it à la Japanese and you’ll get "Helles".
On tap at the brewery restaurant.
