Can bought in NYC. Black beer with a nice lasting beige head. Hoppy chocolate flavor, pine, passion fruit, cocoa notes. Hoppy roasted pine flavor, citrus, pine apples, chocolate notes. Great hoppy BIPA.

Canned, thx rlgk. Pours brown with a big lightbrown head. Smells and tastes roasted malt and grassy hoppy with a similar finish.

Can. Pours a clear dark brown body with a large frothy light brown head. The nose is citrusy and roasty with a light coffee and burnt note. The flavor is rather bitter and hoppy with a slightly harsh burnt note on the finish. Medium bodied with fizzy carbonation. Decent stuff, not the smoothest though.

12oz can, thanks to alexsdad06. Shared with Chris R and Brian M. Can dated 10/9/15 ("not my jam"). Hazy dark brown color. Thin tan head. Leaves good bits of lace. Oh yeah, a ton of hop up front on the nose. Very satisfying. Lots of big citrus and tropical fruity notes. Great pine and resin. Reminds me of the same hop level of the new Enjoy By black IPA, but with less of a sweet malt bite in the finish. Just a very mild touch of dark chocolate, mild roast, little earthiness. Medium to bigger body, mildly chewy. Lighter carbonation. Mild slick finish. Moderate to bigger bitter taste, lighter to moderate sweet. An impressive, satisfyingly hoppy and assertive black IPA.

Can at Hasse, thanks Lenner! Black with mocca head. Aroma is roasted, hoppy, liquorice, faint smoke and light piney notes. Taste is roasted and smooth, medium dry. Malt, wood, pine, resin, light herbs, dark chocolate, faint smoke and light dark fruit notes. Superbly balanced.

Canned 10/09/15. Pours black, beige white head. Aroma is slight resin, pine, citrus, roasted malt, smoke. Flavor is nice. Hops and pine pop first, then roasted malt and chocolate really come through. Solid mouthfeel. Hop bitterness, not much coffee bitterness. Nice black ipa. Actually a really good example of the style.

Can. Black. Pine, earth, some citrus and dark malt. Very balanced. A top tier black IPA.

Can. Black pour with tan head. Dark chocolatey malt with piney, lightly citrusy hops. Great balance between the components. Medium sticky mouthfeel. Excellent.

Charcoal color, tanned foam. Ashen pine aroma. Citrus and some blackened meat. Flavor has the same features with a medicinal black cherry flavor in the pungent middle. Mouthfeel is medium, carb is high, too high; malt depth is overshadowed. This is an acceptable take on this dull and predictable style.
