Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Poured a murky medium amber with a big frothy white head. The aroma is citrus fruit, grassy hop. The flavour is medium bitter with a gorgeous smooth woody ligjht resin nettle hop palate and a long bitter finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Lots going on here with plenty of flavours.

Appearance: Clear brown/amber with 3 finger beige head. Aroma: Bandaid, barnyard, leathery, peppery, earthy, resinous, citrus, light caramel. Taste: Medium bitterness, low/medium sourness with low sweetness. Palate: Thick rough texture, light body, explosive when opened bottle but overall average/prickly carbonation, lingering funky, earthy, peppery, dry, citrus finish with a slight alcohol warmth. Comments: Very good and lace.

500ml bottle. Deep orange-brown amber colour, foamy off-white head and aroma of caramel, orange marmalade, spice. Taste is sweetish, malt caramel, tangy with fruity grapefruit and woody pine hop bitterness. Medium bodied, soft to medium carbonation, warming boozy, dry bitter finish. Quite drinkable DIPA.

Bottle at home from ales by mail
dark amber, pillowy beoge head colapses to a lacing. Hot and heavy, sticky malt, pithy bitterness but lacking flavour and aroma (at end of BBE range). Light carbonatio but v full bodied. A struggle

Sigmund (5118) - Tau, NORWAY - MAR 29, 2014
500 ml bottle conditioned, a gift from my beerpal Olav. Orange colour with floaties, hardly any head. Strong spicy (weird) and hoppy aroma, also notes of red wine vinegar. Nearly void of carbonation. The flavour has an unpleasant peppery and hoppy bitterness, and not much else. In other words: A fucked up bottle. Drainpour.

Keg at SIBA BeerX - Rich red body, foamy white top. Big citrus nose, grapefruit and tart lemons, expecting a big hop taste which you get. Smooth bitter-sweet grapefruit again, after taste of kumquat and tangerine. Very nice and deceptively dangerous!

Keg @ The Rake. Pours an auburn colour, mildly carbonated with pithy lemon and orange and an almost medicinal tongue-numbing bitterness. A great double IPA.

Bottle - pours an amber colour. Looks OK.Aroma is all sweetness. Medium body - big foamy mouthfeel which isn’t unpleasant. Also, nicely dry and bitter. Tasty.

Bottle from Archer Road Beer Stop, Sheffield. Cloudy amber. Thin but lasting, white head. Big aroma. White cherry sourness with a muscovado sugar sweetness. Earthy, dry taste. Massive, oily finish. Pretty massive overall, really.
