Cask, King’s Head, Carlisle. Very pale and quite refreshing. Taste of heather and nettles, some peach, fresh hops and faint malt. Finish is short and slightly tart.

Bottle. Brilliant with a slim, well-retained white collar. Highly susprising aroma- a lambic-like streak of tart lemon, cork and cheesy hop with a hint of old dishcloth (Cascade?). Reminds me of Drie Fonteinen more than anything. Flavour also against the grain; resinous hop bite, satsuma, husky malt and a dab of TCP overpowering any suggestion of perfuminess. I expected Welsh Hoey and got a blend of JHB and Drie Fonteinen. Good, but..I dunno, sometimes I’m just in the mood for a Hoey.

Clear pale golden colour with small white head. Floral mildly bitter hoppy aroma. Flavour is quite tempting floral and fruity hoppy. Sour lactose and yoghurt too. Tasty brew.

Still, headless and frankly unappealing. Very tropical, fresh nose. Melons, mangoes, passionfruit and clementines. Whilst malt is dominant in the mouth hops to make an appearance immediately but dissipate leaving thick tangerine and light spice on the tongue. This is a pretty interesting beer. However a little light carbonation would go a long way in my opinion. It just lacks a certain bite.

Half, hand pulled at The Ship & Mitre, Liverpool. Golden-amber body with good clarity. No head. Fruity smell and taste supported by underlying wheat and spices. Rounded bitterness to the ending. Well bodied (04.05.2009).
