Very nice nose of zesty lemongrass and ginger. Pours cloudy with a persistant head and tons of lace. Flavour is a little unexpected - very, very dry an underpinned with some very bitter hops; mainly, though, itís the citrus, herbs and spice coming through that dominate this beer. You need about three or four good swills to see where itís coming from, but once you have it rewards the effort.

Cask, Far From The Madding Crowd, Oxford. (Thanks Glen and the Banbury guys for the pint!) Pale gold, white head. Pungent apricot and ginger aroma. Spicy ginger and juniper berry flavor, dry ginger exhale. The most gin-like beer Iíve encountered. Interesting experiment, and rather good.

Cask conditioned at Far from the Madding Crowd, Oxford. Pale gold, clear with white head. Lovely aroma of ginger and apricot leading to a spicy, dry beer, touches of tangy orange, citrusy, warming. Really well done in my opinion.

500ml bottle thanks to ethereal, even though iím not so sure iím that grateful :-) you guessed it, it wsnít mine. Gorgeous smell of heavy clove, apples and a lot of spice but thats where the disaster starts. Taste offensive! Strange metallic mix of whey, coriander, earth and water... why?

Cask at the Royal Oak Beer Festival, Oakley, Bucks/Oxon border 03-05-08 Hazy warm golden in colour with a white bubbly head. The burnt orange peel in the description is the first thing that I picked up, Loz on the other hand got the cloves immediately. I really liked this though I felt that the spices and particularly the cloves contrived to make this feel quite medicinal. This is really quite interesting, as wheat beers go its not very subtle the citrus is a bit full on at times but I found it very moreish and most enjoyable.

Bottle. Slightly hazy with a very definite hoppy bitterness. Some traces of fruitiness. Pleasant and easy to sup.

Ethereal (2417) - Los Angeles, California, USA - MAR 29, 2008
Bottle from Nelson Wines, shared with renffisch and tashi. Hazy gold appearance as youíd expect. Strong aroma of orange peel, apples and cloves. A bit like sniffing a good applie pie! Orange and coriander are the strongest components of the flavour and the finish is dry with a definite pineapple flavour showing through as well.

Bottle conditioned. Hazy golden-orange colour with a short-lived, moderate white head. Slightly hazy with plenty of carbonation. Aroma of ginger, coriander mace, yeast and citrus. The flavour had more spice, pineapple and a pine resin, dry finish. Very enjoyable.

Bottled. A hazy orange colour looking very much like certain ciders. The aroma has citrus fruit, coriander and hints of ginger. The taste has oranges and tons of spices. Pretty authentic wit taste in my book. Nice tasty and spicy.

A Mes rate: 50cl bottle from Kris Wines.
Tongue in cheek it may be but itís actually pretty decent. Cloudy orange yellow with a reasonable perfectly white head. Freshly squeezed orange aroma with a bit of yeast and delicate hints of the coriander showing. The coriander is much more to the fore in the flavour with some slight apple but not in a bad way. Full on citric hop finish. Refreshing and enjoyable.
