Cask handpull, Post Office Vaults, Birmingham. Slim-capped, bright orange gold. Soft, grassy, gelatinous aroma translating into a similar flavour; washy orange wine gum, grass, minerals, herb. Late biscuit finish. Still, almost flat condition. Light meaty, vegetable stock notes. In truth pretty drab: struggled with a pint.

UPDATED: AUG 20, 2011 (bottled)headless bronze with a shitload of sediment , not too refined to look at ...tastes pretty fruity and citrusy , almost like generic fruit cordial. Not really detecting any festive spice or vibes from this ’Christmas’ seasonal.

Cask (handpump) at the White Horse on Parsons Green, 27 February 2011. Clear gold / amber colour. Sweetish. A bit fruity - couldn’t really identify particular fruits though.. Maybe some citrus. Pleasant enough, and quite well balanced, but didn’t make too much of a splash.

Cask at the Magpie in Brentford. Pours a clear gold with a small white head and an aroma of dry hops and honey, faint fruity notes on the palate - pear maybe. Lovely balance of bitter vs fruity malt, crisp and clean finish with a lingering hoppiness.

500ml bottle from Utobeer. Slightly citrusy and earthy beer with some satsuma/tangerine fruit on the finish. Why I keep buying Otley beers believing that they are good, I don’t know. Some sherberty hop on aroma.
