3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 jackl (2587) - London, Greater London, - NOV 2, 2012Cask @ CPK. The pour’s medium amber with a small orange-white head. The nose is of tree branch, some sweet malts, red fruit and spun brown sugar. The taste is caramelized orange rind, sweet nutty malts, nutmeg and toasted grain. Notes of baked brown bread and leafy dried hop. Medium body, smooth. Well-rounded if not unbelievably flavorful. Overall, pretty good.

Cask at Market Porter 24th January 2013. this is a little disapointing, nothing to distinguish it from any other light ale. OK
3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 Essex (46) - Cardiff, WALES - JAN 5, 2013
Served on cask into a pint glass into a pub in Cardiff.
Pours a hazy dark amber colour, which clears up slowly, fascinating to watch in fact.
Smells pretty lightly malty with a hint of hoppiness.
Tastes very "solid". Balanced hops and malts creating a refreshing and thirst quenching taste.
Overall a lovely beer from a great brewery.

Cask at the Sussex Arms, Twickenham Green - 29/12/12.
Lightly hazed mid amber with a thin off white bubbly heaad.
Nose is caramel malts, fruit, little hoppage.
Taste carries more depth than the nose, caramel malt, dark fruits, candied sugars, touch of bread.
Medium bodied with soft carbonation, smooth on the palate with some bitterness in the finish.
A decent tasty bitter.

1/2 in The Lady Grey, Newcastle. Orange with a white head. Toffee aroma, fruity almond flavour with a strange plastic flavour on the swallow. I also found the palate a bit too full bodied for the style. Drinkable, but the least enjoyable beer I’ve had from this brewery by a distance.

Maybe a bad batch, but had no aroma, no taste, and very watery. A dour effort.
