Cask by handpump at Henglerís Circus, Glasgow - very cloudy brown, thin beige head, fruity nose, deep berry almost lambic flavour, mild traditional hop aftertaste

Aroma: grain malts, some grass, some yeast. Appearance: hazy amber, small, beige head. Taste: light sweet. Palate: malty sweets continue, yeast again, light bitters coming up, medium body, fine carbonation. Overall: interesting Saison, quite malty. Pint at The Champion, Bayswater.

On cask at the Haymarket. Appearance - hazy brown with an orange or red chink. Nice head. Nose - toffee and minerality running underneath. Taste - same again. I guess the saison yeast is causing the mineral notes. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy yet tangy mineral texture and a long dry mineral finish. Overall - interesting and quite good.

Cask at the haymarket. Pours hazy brown, thick off-white head. Aromas of toffee, liquorice, light yeast. Taste is smoky, dry, light bitterness. More toffee at the end. Nice.

Cask in the Windsor Castle W8. Very dark black in colour, thin white head. Interesting beer, initially a bit hot boozy, some interesting yeast I guess, herbal hoppy flavour, some licorice, blackcurrant, hint of caramel. Not perfect but enjoyable.

Hoppy and fresh tasting. Has a very earthy, interesting hop flavour - for some reason makes me think of twigs and bracken and such. Good malty base to back it up. Iím not sure why ratebeer rates this one so low - possibly because in character itís more like a British bitter than what is usually called "Saison"?

Cask at Falcon. Pale yellow, clear, still, small bubbly white head. Aroma is light estery lemon, caramel. Body is medium to light, soft carbonation. I lost the rest of my notes due to having a shit phone. But, in short, this tasted pretty good.

Cask conditioned at The Grapes, Oxford. Hazy copper with white head. This was a spicy number, cardomon, ginger and coriander came to mind, quite yeasty in a Belgian Ale way. Fullish on the palate, lasting. Decent enough if quite unusual.

Cask, Handpump, The Firefly, Worcester, Saturday 4th January 2014. Pours black with a creamy off-white head. Roasty in the mouth, soft, very tangy quite nice, full flavoured. Furry in the mouth, leaves a little hoppy furry coating, a little spicy around the edges. Good but not great. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov13 3.3
