3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Brownish beer with a very strong frothy head. The aroma is sour with bitterness, and the flavour is very bitter with plenty of hops and some smoky sourness. Overall a nice sour and bitter beer.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A murky orange brown coloured beer with a very lively, frothy white head. A dusty malt aroma, caramel and vinous fruit. Dry mouthfeel. The taste follows on from the aroma, the malt flavours, of caramel and fruit are freshened by a tart vinous bitterness and a spicy flavour. The finish is mildly bitter and vinous. Bottle from Beers of Europe.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle, gift from Andrew. Hazy chestnut brown with a thick beige head. Lively carbonation. Nice lacing. Aroma of blood orange, steel and sticky mango. Flavour of toffee apple, orange zest, grapes and caramel. Medium body with a spritzy mouthfeel. Very fizzy. Not what I was expecting but I really enjoyed this raw, hoppy Saison.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Pours dark brown with a reasonable head. Aroma is wheaty - sulphurous with some obscure roast character lurking in the background. Flavour is wheat like again with crispy chocolate tones

Pint from the Raven, Bath, and very nice it was too. Deep hazy chestnut brown colour with a thin white head. Aroma has wheat and a rich yeasty sweetness, with a touch of spice. Taste is bittersweet.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On cask at the Haymarket.
Appearance - hazy brown with an orange or red chink. Nice head.
Nose - toffee and minerality running underneath.
Taste - same again. I guess the saison yeast is causing the mineral notes.
Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy yet tangy mineral texture and a long dry mineral finish.
Overall - interesting and quite good.
