2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 Essex (46) - Cardiff, WALES - JAN 5, 2013
Served on cask, poured into a half pint glass in a pub in pontypridd.
Pours a clear golden colour with little head.
Smells quite fresh, oily and hoppy.
Tastes quite tangy and hoppy, very different, and i’m not sure i like it. Quite pale ale tasting, with odd twinges that must be the thai elements (lemongrass etc).
Overall not a bad beer, i think i’d like it better after trying it a couple more times. Nice on a hot summers day.

another fruity affair from Melissa Cole. this one is a bit strange but ultimately tasty. golden straw pour with tight white head. aroma is an intoxicating mix of ginger & lemongrass. very refreshing as the aromas multiply and the light bitterness tickles the tonsils.
one pint was enough, probably better with food!
cask. Marble Arch. Manchester

Light and crisp. Light soapy foam. Almost no aroma with the exception of a slight bit of pine. Taste is of orange, veggies, citrus, and soap. Really a unique flavor. Not bad despite the soapiness. Some floral effervescence. Tried at the Sheep’s Heid Inn outside Edinburgh in 2012.

Cask, Philarmonic, Liverpool. Diddley ? Selecta ? Pallid gold with a meek white head. Citrusy nose. Similar flavour with spice and lemongrass notes leading to some hop bitterness towards the finish. Seemed a bit thin overall. Unusual though, and top marks for trying to be different and all that but not really feeling this.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 EdKing (1302) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 3, 2012
Cask in Dog & Duck. Colour is pale yellow. Nose is coriander, lemongrass, bit of curry, touch of meatiness. Taste is a light beer, but with lemongrass, coriander and curry notes. Hints of green curry. Not really working for me but interesting.

Cask, handpump at The Commercial & Victoria Hotel, Leeds, W.Yorks 18.03.12 in company of dad & Barry Pours gold with a white head. The nose is rather subtle in fact that subtle I don’t get much at all. Light fruity refreshing beer with a middling bitterness, I assumme that this has some Thai influence but I’m afraid that it has rather bypassed me, it’s still a decent beer though. [cask at the Haymarket Bar, Edinburgh] Clear greenish gold pour, which may have been the power of suggestion given the ’Thai green curry’ – but it did have a greenish hue. Aroma of lemongrass, thyme and other herbal sweetness. The flavour is pretty much vegetal – more lemongrass, leading to a pretty big grassy ginger bitterness. Certainly tastes a bit like a green curry. Odd – one of those beers you spend so much time trying to work out an opinion of, you end up drinking the whole thing before reaching a conclusion [22032012]

On tap @ the Haymarket Bar. Pours golden with fairly proportionate head. The nose has sweet egg and lemon grass. The taste has coconut and nutmeg. The palate is medium bodied and structured with a fresh finish. While not world beating this beer definitely is of an individual personality.
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Benjii (3049) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - MAR 17, 2012
On cask at The Haymarket. Pours a blonde colour with a fair white head. A spicy aroma of ginger, lemon grass and a little birds eye chilli. Similar flavours with a fair ginger bite. Mild carbonation and a foamy mouth-feel. OK with some lingering chilli heat.
