bottled. deep and dank shade of copper with a steady white head. aroma of fruit salad with cream and a bit of cocoa powder on top. quite grassy, molasses, pine, tar, plenty of roasty bitterness, really buttery texture. i’d just about given up on ever getting excited by a dunkel again but i thought this was great

Bottled 04/01/13. A dark dark brown coloured beer with an off-white pool of head. A smoky and roasty nose. Sweet fruity malty taste. A pretty good body. A nice dunkel which tastes fairly strong too. I liked this.

Bottle. Chestnut, fine carbonation, creamy off-white head. Nice toasted bready aroma, hop nuances. Chewy mouthfeel, good body, present but not cloying sweetness. Light nutty and roasted notes, fitting bitter and aromatic hop counterpoint. Quite drinkable and moreish.

Day Two of the Great Chris Meyer/Aaron Nielsen Franconian Beer Tasting in Schlitz. Prost! Hazy, reddish orange appearance with an off white head. Rich malty, nutty caramel nose. A bit spicy, rich caramel malty, toasty, somewhat floral/chalky flavor.

Bottle from Treffpunkt, Nurnberg railway station. Deep amber coloured with a slight white head. Aroma was primarily of sweet malt with a hint of grassy hops. Flavour was very malty, almost doughy with a pleasant toffeeish finish. Very pleasant.

Draft @ former Kohlmann brewery in Drugendorf. Has a fizzy beige head that is the exactme color as the krug. Fun malty aroma has some soya sauce and innocuous butter. A little fizzy but soft mouthfeel that leaves some minerals on the tongue. Very dry in the finish but does have some bready malts in the middle with their attendant sweetness. Finishes with soda water minerals. Feels like a homebrew, in a good way.

Botella de 50 cl. Color ambar.

Diverse Flaschen, u.a. von Hopfen & Malz, Berlin.
