Bottle by 16.11.12. Nose is sweet with light caramel notes (descriptive, I know). Pours a color at the intersection of brown and amber, rocky and leggy off-white head. Taste is sweet with a little vomit and straining light bitterness, toffee and light earth. Light-medium body. Flavor is a little sickening, to be honest.

Out of the bottle, it pours an orangish brown with a tan head. The smell is toasted malt, grass, earth. The taste is chocolate, toasted malt, earth, grass ending dry. The body is light+ with average carbonation.

Many thanks to Rian for this bottle! The beer starts malty and smooth. Easy to drink with a quite grainy background. Smooth-grainy and not too sweetish. Moderate neutral bitter in the end. If I wouldn’t have seen the colour, I might have thought it is a golden-coloured Festbier. Not much roast there, not much caramel. More grain and a neutral bitter, slightly roasted finish. But: The warmer it gets, the more roasted and dark it becomes. So if not drunken directly from the fridge, it becomes a bit more aromatic, but still way too flat for a Dunkles from Franconia.

Bottle. Interesting, refreshing, spicy-bitter red beer. Bright red-amber color, some lingering foam. Fruity caramel nose, sweet roast apple note, light whiff of smoke. Tastes tangy and dry, with a light acidity, mild caramel, overmatched by a firm, earthy-spicy hop-bitterness that leaves a nice stamp of residue on the tongue. Definitely not another sweetish, drab Dunkel -- this one is different. Possibly addictive.

Una dunkel più che discreta, con leggere note tostate e un corpo interessante, ma niente che rimanga impresso più a lungo di una piacevole bevuta.

Bottle from Getränke Kistner in Forchheim. The beer has got a deep dark brown colour with low head and medium body. Mild carbonation. Aroma of malt and barley, followed by a taste of malt, dark bread, barley, grains and basement. Hints of wine corc. Easy drinkable and solid beer.

courtesy of Frank Arendt - pours a clear amber-brown beer with a moderate head retention; flowery aroma with notes of caramel; medium-bodied, mild and with a light corny tartness; gently sweet malty finishwith more caramelish tones
