COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly Ottakringer Zwickl.

3fourths (8029) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - OCT 19, 2009
draft at immervoll in vienna. heavily cloudy yellow wheat body with a perfectly fine doughy, frothy white head. nose is spiced sweet fried breading with some mild fruit and lemon zest. prickly, zesty carbonation and tingly yeast... more lemon zest and cracker barley/biscuit/crackers tasted. moderately syrupy body, overall very fresh, lively and refreshing but lacks depth.

gyllenbock (4634) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - OCT 16, 2009
On tap at Zu den 2 Lieserln in Vienna, July 09. The cloudy, a little copper-like color was the biggest plus beer, I also liked the thick foam. The taste was pretty lame with some elements of fruit and citrus. Easy to drink without too exciting taste.

Dorqui (2105) - Brescia, ITALY - OCT 6, 2009
Draught. Clear brown color, a lot hazy and dense. Creamy and adherent head of optimal resistance. Intense, alcoholic scent, with notes of braced malt, stum, aged grape, flowers buckets, clear mildew. Much pleasant, complex, and with extended bitterish final.

Ober (2811) - Bommelerwaard, NETHERLANDS - OCT 6, 2008
Draught at Bermuda Bräu Vienna. A hazy yellow colored beer, with a thick white head. It disappears quickly. The aroma of hop bitter, with tones of citrus. The taste of a little hop, a little fruity, it’s watery. Also a little malt and dry bitter. The aftertaste is a little bitter.

An improvement over ready Ottakringer. Pours a cloudy gold with a middling creamy head. Malty citrus in the nose; lemon zest and malty wheat on the palate.

pivnizub (8853) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - JUL 21, 2008
On tap at Krah-Krah, Vienna: Hazy, pale golden with a lacy, mid-sized white head; yeasty-sourish nose with some pale-malty influences, a bit barnyardy, too; light to moderate sweetish-sourish flavour, light bodied; lingering sourish and fruity finish. Not so convincing.............

Comments: A clean, fresh and refreshing zwickl that does not push the carbonation too hard as many seem to do in Austria and plays the soft zesty lemon tang. Good, especially from Ottakringer.
