COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly Ottakringer Zwickl.

An improvement over ready Ottakringer. Pours a cloudy gold with a middling creamy head. Malty citrus in the nose; lemon zest and malty wheat on the palate.

On tap at Krah-Krah, Vienna: Hazy, pale golden with a lacy, mid-sized white head; yeasty-sourish nose with some pale-malty influences, a bit barnyardy, too; light to moderate sweetish-sourish flavour, light bodied; lingering sourish and fruity finish. Not so convincing.............

Comments: A clean, fresh and refreshing zwickl that does not push the carbonation too hard as many seem to do in Austria and plays the soft zesty lemon tang. Good, especially from Ottakringer.

Fresh sourly aroma. Hazy yellow color, creamy head. Fruity, lemon taste, pleasant tartness, fresh and pleasant drinkable. Light hoppy finish.

On tap at Bermuda Brau, Wien. Hazed orange with huge head (I want to ask for top ups!!). I get nothing more than a light lemony tea note with this, a little staleness on the hops. A new style for me and I didn’t like it, blast.

On tap at Bermudabrau ( I think?) in vienna. Very cloudy pour- nice hazy yellow with a great lasting head. Good sweet pilsner malt aroma wiht some spicy earthy hops. Finishes slighhtly acidic but somewhat smooth. Very nice representation of the style.

The second Zwickel I've sampled behind New Glarus' example in the States. Sweet, almost tart hop profile. The beer is golden yellow with slight haze.

Had it in Vienna with caesar. Slightly hazy yellow coloured, small head. Pretty sweet aroma. Sweet and sour flavour. OK beer.

I had this one in the centre of Vienna. Slight hazy yellow color, short lasting head. Quite sweet aroma. Sweet and sour taste, indeed a bit tart. Refreshing palate.

I had this at the Vienna Airport on tap. It was a real great find. It is an unfiltered pilsener in the Munich Helles style and has an endearing tartness to it. It is a full bodied pilsener with delicate hop and malt presence. The hop aroma is flowery. The flavour of this beer reminded me alot of the now defunct :( Denison's Bavarian Hell.
